This speaks poorly not only of himself, but of the LSU staff. I'm glad he went to rehab and all, but then gets arrested again for possession. Hopefully he's clean for good this time, but for someone who can't handle stress, the NFL just isn't the place for him, especially in a big market like NYC. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
WTF ... TEN TIMES MINIMUM I'm a firm believer in second chances but this is crazy. Can a rookie contract be reworked so that it's void if he fails another drug test?
You all sound surprised. What did you expect, a legitimate Heisman candidate from 2011 to be kicked off the team for less than that?
He says he stopped counting at 10 failed tests and he has no idea how many he actually failed. SEC football, baby!
What's the point of drug tests if you can fail 10+ of them and still not get kicked off the team? Obviously the man is not going to be playing for long in the NFL so he's probably not worth a draft pick.
The Honey Badger can flat out play football, but the guy is a moron. Over 10 failed drug tests and the fact that he went to the combine and put up 225 like 3 times. I don't think that will affect how he produces on the field, but it clearly shows a lack of dedication.
That is a really good question. In the Medical Marijuana states he would have no problem getting a prescription to smoke. In close to half the states he could smoke legally. Although Federal law does trump State law and it technically would be a crime even if the Feds do not enforce it. But it might be interesting if the Honeybadger presented a doctors prescription for taking the drug just like a lot do with other substances like Adderall. Although Marijuana does not have the performance enhancing effects that a lot of these other drugs do. But the problem at least for me with the Honeybadger is not his use of Marijuana or even the odds of him getting suspended but the fact he would jeopardize his career just to get high. What does that say about his love of Football?
http://www.empowernetwork.com/earna...e-allowed-to-smoke-marijuana-where-its-legal/ “The NFL’s policy is collectively bargained and will continue to apply in the same manner it has for decades,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Lindsay Jones of USA Today Sports. “Marijuana remains prohibited under the NFL substance abuse program.”
Hopefully he has gotten help and changed his ways.... Some team probably through that out there as a smoke screen to try and deter teams from picking him in hopes he drops down in the draft. Id still take a shot on him in later rounds
This doesn't change my opinion on him at all. We all knew he was a huge pothead in college. This doesn't change that. He could even be a pothead in the NFL. Just hope he doesn't fail drug tests. He was a pothead when he was a Heisman finalist, too...
I also think the NFL has to approve the precsription which is something I heard when Sherman said half the league takes Aderall. I don't know how that could be legal but if true seems to indicate that anybody with a medical mj prescription would be shot down by the league.
Nagle: As an obvious Bama guy why the dig? Do you honestly think Nick Saban would be more lenient than Les Miles? I sincerely believe the reason coach Saban stays not only in college FB but also at UA is his ability to impact young peoples lives. Don't get me wrong, he wants to win and has every advantage to do so where he is at, but I feel a definite change. He has put personal millions into Nicks kids and rebuilding Tuscaloosa after the tornados.
