I think if Sanchez is traded and we get the #13 we would draft Jones and hopefully Warmack at 13. I think we would than take Barkley in the 2nd round who fits in a West Coast offense. I think Geno fits as well but there is a much higher risk with taking Smith at 9 or 13.

I see the ultimate trolling effort going on

The CB market showed what Revis' value will truly be at 10-12M range, if we give him enough guaranteed money and a big enough signing bonus that should be good enough. I think Idzik played this the right way and showed Revis there wont be a bidding war, teams will just go with good enough corners and strengthen the front 7 to make up for those issues in the secondary.

Revis also seems like he just wants to play football, get financial and career security and win a super bowl and the best place to do that is in New York

    Absolutely.

If he gets an absolutely perfect deal, make the trade happen, if not, use this as a lesson that the market for Revis is not as big as many thought and tell him to lower his asking price

not getting to excited about this." source with knowledge of the situation" coud be anyone. hell, everyone here has knowledge of the situation ot some extent. this horse has been beaten from all angles and with the f.o. maintaining radio silence reporters are just looking for a fresh angle to go at.

on that note heres how the conversation would have went:
idzick: we give you revis, you gve us the 13 a 2nd and 4th
domenick(sp): well take sanchez and you give us revis
    idzick: what about draft picks?
domenick; ok , we take sanchez and you give us revis and draft picks

I like the way you think, it seems as if the Jets called Revis on his I want to get paid again stance and came out ahead without actually having to pay him. We'll see what happens leading up to the draft but the best place for Revis is in green and white.

For what it's worth, Sullivan was a WR coach in 2007 and a QB coach in 2011. He's been pretty good as an OC so far and I hope he has a good career, but that article is a bit misleading in how it describes Sullivan's past successes.

what scares the shit out of me is the thought of Sanchez taking any more snaps for my team.

Is Revis still intent on getting $15 MM/year when the next-highest paid CB's are at $10 MM or less ???

At least......doesn't mean he will but he is definitely intent on it especially when he reads 10 times a day that 15 million isn't scaring off Tampa one little bit.

Thats the fuckery in it all and Tampa Bay is in pretty good shape to take over the NFC South

Improving D, run game is great, O-Line is fine, 2 good WR's all they need a shutdown corner, QB and TE maybe an edge rusher or two

I'll call you dead wrong. When do the doctors check him out and when do they negotiate the new contract?
The Jets would not get anywhere near what they are looking for in draft picks if they don't allow a medical and negotiation on a contract.

Is Barkley really a better fit for the Jets than Ryan Nassib or Landry Jones?

I see Geno Smith as a cut above the others, although not a huge talent difference. I see a bunch of other people clustered really close together and I'm not sure it's worth paying a premium to get one of them.

Maybe just take the guy that drops to a pick we like him at?

The only guys in the draft that look like they are worth a traditional pick in the top 36 are Smith and Manuel. After that it becomes a question of value vs the slot.

What would the cap cost be for Tampa? 3 Mil next year and then they can cut him? That might not be a horrible deal for them.

Trading Sanchez is pretty neutral cap-wise if the other team picks up the guaranteed salary. The Jets take an immediate hit from the pro-rated bonuses but they no longer have the salary on the books or cap.

Sorry if this has been addressed in the almost 100 pages of comments, but what if Revis and the Jets are working together and Revis gets traded but signs with the Jets next year for like $12 million? I know this would probably never happen based on Revis' personality, but isn't it technically possible to completely dupe a team out of draft picks for a one year rental?
