That's exactly my point. Torts occasionally nails guys to the bench for those types of screw ups, or sloppy play, becasue he preaches defensive discipline/positioning etc......and a lot of fans get on him about that.
Usually people are ripping on Torts because there's no offensive focus, he switches up lines every time they start clicking which ruins things, and he'll sit players for completely random bullshit.
no, he doesn't sit players for complete random bullshit, he sits them for the exact reason you stated we lost last night, making dumb mistakes, particularly in the defensive zone......that's exactly what I'm talking about. as far as disrupting chemistry and changing lines.....arguments can be made both ways there. He does it a little too often for my taste, but when they don't score shit in a shortened season you don't have a lot of time to let that correct itself with a status quo approach. also, I'd say as a team, they've been clicking offensively for maybe the last 5 games or so tops.....and he hasn't disrupted it yet. and Richards is still killing me
“@jessespector: Marc Staal says his fractures have healed, but his vision isn't yet 100%. Getting better, though
@JimCerny: First week after injury "was scary"...Staal said his wife would be up all night cleaning blood from his eye area
Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord 8m #NYR re-assign rookie J.T. Miller to #CTWhale. Not a surprise with no spot in lineup for him right now.
Important game tonight. Another loss to Toronto likely puts them out of reach for catching them in the 5th spot. A look at the schedule, and you have to figure this is one of the four really important games left. Two Devil games, the Isles Saturday (who saw that as a big one early on). The rest are games that should mostly be wins if the Rangers are deserving of a playoff spot.
Tell that to Kreider. Poor dude got jerked around so much, I'm surprised it didn't hurt his confidence.
I agree 100%. 5-8 are up in the air. The teams that deserve to make the playoffs will. How about the Caps? they picked a good time to get hot. Islanders looked good yesterday against a bad team. Let's see how they look against Boston. If the Rangers PLAY WELL, they will make the playoffs. If not, they have no business being their.
no overtime loss, no blowing any 1 goal leads in the 3rd, it would be nice to see the rangers win outright tonight.
Leafs fan here: Can definitely say I did not anticipate this game would have more playoff implications for the Rags than the Leafs but here we are. Obviously hoping my team takes it tonight (we're still not technically a lock for the playoffs although it's pretty much all but certain IMO) but not really banking on it.
Yeah they've been doing okay. I feel like some of the physical play has tailed off a bit but I guess we'll see. Still don't think they'll make it out of the first round but you never know.
