My thought process is this, he's got the arm and overall skill to be a successful QB, he's just got to mature (and fix his god damn footwork). I could have went skill position at this pick but I don't see a difference between this round and the next. In the 5th you've got to look at more the potential aspect than the instant impact aspect, if he actually does work out, which isn't exactly an insane statement, than I don't see better value. Worst case he's a great backup.
He's number 4 on my QB board. 1. Geno 2. Manuel 3. Barkley 4. Bray 5. Wilson 6. Glennon 7. Still on the board 8. Nassib 9. Still on the board 10. Still on the board So yes, the rankings are all over the place.
Can't make everyone happy, just gotta go with your gut and your rankings. I was about to pick a skill position player who I've always liked but I'll take a chance on him slipping to the 6th. Bray was just ranked too high on my board to pass him up. I've been a big believer in not drafting a QB at all in this draft but when value presents itself in rounds 5-7 you just roll with it, it's not like you're going to strike gold and get a starter in those rounds. It just isn't realistic. So from there potential > favorite.
Bray is a solid pick this late, I could definitely live with that. He's has some good tools to work with and could be groomed into something good. Kiko Alonso is a very good player and fell pretty far, solid pick with him
Wasn't planning on double dipping at OT for the Saints but after losing Bushrod the team can upgrade it's depth. Great value if he's healthy he'd be a steal.
oh, lol I haven't been able to keep track of who was picking for who... just reading the name by the pick, Harp!
Haha, just busting 'em for ya Steve. Seeing as you destroyed my browns draft plan from pick 3 it's all I can do to jab back at ya. ....and no taking credit Lax! Ya big meanie
As long as it took a player off your board, I'm happy. Geathers is a building. He'd be a nice rotational NT with Cam Thomas in San Diego
