Watching MDZ last night, I was thinking I would have to stay away from this board for a couple days.Man, he was bruuuuuutal.
Not Del Zotto's finest game of the season. But it happens. The few weeks previous more than make up for one ugly game. Need him to have a short memory of that one though.
Im not going to laugh my friend. I agree with you. He stood in front on teh PPs against Pitt last week at MSG and it worked likea charm. He and Clowe.
Good news on Staal: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/rangers-staal-could-return-before-end-of-season/
painful night after coming back. it's time to toss away the no smoking ritual before the games that i started last week against the penguins. thought they tanked a little in the first 25-30 minutes of this one.
The most glaring problem with them, even in many of their wins, is they rarely play a complete game. Pittsburgh game at home last week notwithstanding. That game aside, I don't think they've played a 60-min game all year. That's going to kill them in the playoffs.
once again i go back to the lockout on this subject. One of the reasons I thought the lockout would hurt the Rangers moreso than other teams was because they were by far in better physical condidtion than their opponents last year...they wore teams out, teams that were more talented.........kill Torts for whatever you want, last years team benefited both in chemistry and physical condition from training camp.........this year they are more lacking in both of those areas, thus the inability to put a solid 3 periods together. Oh yeah, for everyone that kills Torts for emphasizing the defensive end, you saw last night what happens. Decent offensive night wasted by shit defense = loss. So yeah not only are they inconsistent from period to period, but also from zone to zone. They've had about 5 games all season that I would consider solid 60 minute efforts on both ends of the ice, maybe less. gonna be a frantic finish here.......all games huge, but obviously the Isles and the 2 with the Devs in my opinion will determine each of these teams fate.
We didn't lose because our focus was on offense. We lost because of sloppy play. On the last goal of the game, FOUR Rangers went for the puck in the defensive zone leaving an easy 2 on 1 situation for Toronto.
