Yes. When the pundits say something good about the Jets or that the offer has been upped, its' great reporting and true. When they report something bad about the Jets or that Revis is unhappy, or Revis wants $16 million, or the Bucs are unhappy, then they are just making things up. They are speculating because the Jets have a GREAT GM and NO LEAKS.

    Please try to keep up.

Just because the jets have a new gm doesnt meant there are no leaks, He is a GM not a publicist, there will always be leaks

Revis hasn't said anything about reporting to workouts at all so stop thinking he's being a distraction. He didn't even bring up his contract either the media did and I think to be honest him, Idzik and Woody are all trollin the media really fucking hard

No, no, no. All I hear is the media is making up bold face lies. If it is negative about the Jets, it is either someone making something up out of thin air or someone speculating. Only when we hear that the Bucs are giving up more and more do we believe that without a moments hesitation. The Jets FO suddenly has no leaks and is playing the media like a fiddle. Idzik never said he didn't think he could sign Revis. That was made up. Idzik never said he would consider trading Revis. Again, the media (multiple media outlets) made that up out of thin air. Revis never said he wanted a large contract. Media speculation. And Revis' camp never said they would rather Revis continue to rehab with his personal trainer. Bold face lie by the media.

Yes, this is sarcasm. But why can't people look at the situation realistically?

Where there is smoke there is fire. I'm sure Revis is just sitting back not commenting or putting his own media out there at all.....can you feel the sarcasm.....stop drinking the cool-aid and wake up.

It won't matter in 2 weeks anyway......the problem will be gone and Tampa will have it's own salary cap issue when they give this guy 15 million per. So who do you like at 13?

I hope we make the trade with Tampa, if we don't get it done and Revis is one and done for us I think the GM should be one and done too.

The only difference with many of you is, I hope it isn't until after the draft. I want 2014 picks not 2013. As some believe the Jets want a 1st and 2nd and the 1st must be this year. I want the 2nd in 2013 and the 1st in 2014 which I believe would get this done now.

But if the Jets take to long and it isn't until after the draft, it would be better for us. Give the Jets more ammo for the new HC next year.

So far we have a 1st, 3rd, 6th on the table and the Jets won't take it. If we pass and get nothing, this will be the best deal never done and screw us for years to come.

Funny how one paper says Tampa is ready to give Revis $15M but the next paper says Tampa has not received permission to even talk to Revis' agent yet.

If the later is true then the Jets want their own needs settled first (draft pics), and THEN Tampa can talk to Revis.

Idszik knows that if a team settles with Revis first it will be a two month blood bath and there will be nothing left for the Jets. hahaha. Get our cake first. Good thinking.

Actually last I saw he was enjoying himself in Paris. Doesn't seem like he's fuming and trying to sabotage the Jets at every step to me.

You're right where there is smoke there is fire...but there isn't smoke here. All we have here are media types (intentionally note calling them "reporters" or "journalists") who are infering there is smoke based on...well, nothing from what I can see. They don't even have on the record comments from any party involved that they are spinning they are just saying he's upset with zero backup to it. Seems to be based on just wild speculation and past experience, much like you are doing.

He probably is going to be gone soon though so it's a moot point. I'm just sad that blind people like you are going to remember Revis for non-stories conjured up by the media and not for what he did on the field.

You are so blind buddy you can't even see what your typing......Your foolish notion that Revis has been a happy camper and that his "team" hasn't affected the team as a whole over the past few seasons with all of the contract issues is an absolute joke. Get your head out of your ass if you think I'm blind. Also learn to read before you post. As I said, love what the guy can do on the field.....he's one of the best. Hate the off field distractions...you remember who advises him right?

If we can get a 1, 3, and 7 I think that is more than fair value for Revis.... We can finally move on a d get down to business... A bold move for us would be take Tampa's pick and trade back in the draft try and getnext years 1st rounder from somebody and we move into the second round and pick up more picks

Can't agree more! One thing to keep in mind though is that's been only a couple of months. So far everything Idzik done is perfect. It does not mean he is flawless, but we are yet to see what are his flaws. Draft will be big, but of course it always is.

My gut feeling (probably in part just wishful thinking) tells me that when all said and done decision to hire Idzik will be the best decision Woody ever made.

How about trading TB's 13 ( or our 9) for THIS year, lower 1st and 2nd?

The history of Darrelle Revis with the Jets:

2007 - Promising rookie CB in a lost season.
2008 - Steps up to be one of the best CB's in the NFL but gets lost in the Favre/Jenkins/Mangini eventually fired shuffle.
2009 - The best defensive player in the NFL because Rex's system forces opposing QB's to throw at him with little success. The Jets lose to the Colts at the end because Revis can't cover everybody.
2010 - The holdout. The hammy, despite Revis claiming that he was working out during the holdout. The Jets lose to the Steelers at the end because the run defense can't contain Mendenhall in the 1st half - this is the beginning of a pattern for the Jets.
2011 - One of the best CB's in the NFL but the Jets miss the playoffs because that's all they have going for them.
    2012 - The knee.

When we look back at his career with the Jets we'll no doubt remember the good things more than the bad but the last three years were mostly an exercise in why franchise CB doesn't work.

The whole story is different if the Jets don't hold out for the 6th year on the rookie contract. That's what triggered the rookie holdout by Revis which lead to the 6 year deal which was a slot buster. The Jets had 3 picks tied up in Revis including a 1st and a 2nd so their leverage was compromised, they had to get him into camp.

The slot buster told Revis he was special. The holdout told him how to get what he wanted from the Jets. The 2010 holdout was directly related to the botched rookie negotiation. The 2013 situation is directly related to the 2010 holdout and its aftermath.

So by blowing the rookie negotiation after trading up for Revis the Jets set the course for the next 6 years and Revis eventual exit.

Rule #1 to learn from this: never invest so much in a rookie that you cannot afford to wait him out.

Rule #2: holdouts are best resolved decisively, either trade the player or lock him up.

Rule #3: If you're going to lock him up make sure you wait him out first. The team has the leverage not the player. Holdouts are all about players trying to get leverage. Don't give them the leverage under any circumstances.

This is only part one. He needs to make Good use of those picks if we get them. If he can turn us into a young up and coming team during what should be a written off season then we will have something.

His biggest test is yet to come, which will be finding a franchise QB.
