Woods OR Swope would be good not both I like Gio Bernard or Johnathan Franklin he is overlooked The Cornelius Washington pick is great I hope we get him he is a great player I watched him play in the senior bowl him and Ziggy were getting after the QB
Why do you think the Panthers will gave up a 2nd and a 4th to move from 14 to 9? Every draft trade chart I read says that the 2nd is too much.
because I think Carolina will be in the market for either Shariff Floyd or Star Lotulelei. Floyd will be gone for sure. they trade up to get Star.
This comment isn't really related to this thread, but doesn't deserve it's own thread either..so I chose this thread since it' bascially mentioned top 10 Does any of the draftniks around here remember the last time so many scouting sites, reputable ones anyways, that this late in the draft had 4 of the top 10 prospects as Offensive linemen, 3 OT's and 1 OG, and 5 of the top 15 players being offensive linemen with the addition of Cooper in the top 15? It's shaping up to be a really weird draft.
The 7 round draft has never had 4 OL taken in the top 10. As to why this draft is weird I'll point to four specific situations that I think made it weird: 1. Matt Barkley had a bad senior season that pushed him out of the top 10. 2. Jarvis Jones spinal stenosis diagnosis prevented him from ever getting enough momentum to be a clear top 10 pick. 3. Geno Smith established himself as the best QB in the draft by mid-season and then declined from there until it is not clear he is a top 10 pick. 4. Marcus Lattimore tore up a knee for the second year in a row making him a double-knee case and destroying his value in the draft. Would likely have been a top 10 pick otherwise.
I agree its a very odd draft - which makes it all the more interesting. Geno Smith had a 2nd round grade not long ago, now is seen as a probable top 10 pick. Barkley must be really regretting not coming out last year, he has really damaged his stock with a poor senior season. This looks like being the year of "decent" picks rather than an exciting year - but that's fine for us - I would prefer a couple of good/deep draft years after everything else that has gone on.
