Youd think hes decent in pass pro if Detroit started him for 3 yrs. No clue about this guy but should be another cheap deal. Potential competition for Ducasse.
Keep it simple and keep it cheap boys. I would love it if the FO at least "addresses" every position we need before and after the draft. I think if we can look at a few more tight ends and linebackers, we should have enough stop gaps to draft BPA.
I think if we get Warmack then its definitely a step in the right direction for us... We will be solidifying the line for years to come and Peterman to me will be like Faneca was for us he will just be a stop gap player. Maybe he will be around for like 2-4 years max so somebody has to groom Warmack into a good guard
i logged in just to you give a...LOL LMAO - love seinfeld! well i am sure sanchez will be wearing the urban sombrero few times this year
Depends how much money Moore wants. I would like him to remain on the team but for nothing more than 1.5 - 2 mill. If he wants more (or accepts the same kind of money from a contender) than he can go... it would suck to see him finish his career elsewhere but he wouldn't be the first long-tenured Jet to do so (see Shaun Ellis). Better to let them go a year too early than one too late!
Some beat writer prints something and its run with. Fact: Peterman has only started at RG, Moore is a LG. If the Jets sign Peterman, he will replace Slauson and Colon will replace Moore. Peterman also was one of the worst Guards as pass protection last year allowing a league high hurries. However, 2012 was an aberation from his body of work. Detroit cut him for salary cap reasons. He's a hold the fort (like Colon) until the can groom younger players they like. Signed for vet minimum or slightly above and this would be a decent, but unspectacular signing. Idzik continues to attempt to improve the talent with very little wiggle room this year.
Slauson was LG & Moore was RG. Slauson was taking some snaps to backup Center also. I think Colon has experience with Guard on both sides though.
or, we sign peterson and it lets us take bpa who may or maynot be warmack. signing a 31 y.o. does not stop them from taking another player at the same position high in the draft. it allows them the flexibilty to not have to reach.
Yikes...we cut Faneca after we drafted Vlad in the 2010 draft. And Faneca is a borderline HOFer who enabled us to be the best in the league at rushing in 2009. Kind of a crude comparison. Whoever we get at 9 better see starter snaps.
If I recall correctly, wasn't it the RG's ass Sanchez ran into face first? Ouch. I'm hoping this is a depth signing; would so hate to see them pass on Warmack who's maybe the closest thing to a 'sure thing' as far as securing a 10-year starter in this draft goes.
http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2013/02/report_detroit_lions_will_rele.html "According to football analytics website Pro Football Focus, Peterman allowed more quarterback pressure than any starting guard during the 2012 season". He's also called the Penalty Machine by some fans... nice... Nice... although a non-existent running game is also to blame here.
