2013 TGG 7 Round Mock Discussion Thread This thread will be used to discuss all picks that are made tomorrow at 5 pm and so on. I cannot express this enough, DO NOT MENTION PLAYERS WHO HAVEN'T BEEN SELECTED!!. I understand we all make mistakes, especially the newbies, but please try your best to refrain from mentioning players who haven't been selected or (for example) something like "That Quarterback from Texas A&M", we dont want to give away players here. All in all, Lets have fun guys !
I picked Star because I think DL is their biggest need. Star is arguably the best player in the draft and was cleared of any heart condition. I think he most-upgrades the Chiefs based on who is on their roster right now. Looking at my next pick not coming up until the third round, I don't know who I'd take at 5T or NT, and Star can excel at either spot. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...r-lotuleleis-heart-reportedly-in-normal-range
Star is a solid pick. Haven't read anything about the heart conditions for a while. Was it a false alarm or misdiagnosis?
With Milliner, I'm looking at the Raiders' roster and you could pretty much justify any position on defense. They signed Tracy Porter, but that's really just a second corner. If the Raiders had a second-round pick I may have gone a different direction, but waiting until the third to hope to get a top corner when there's one staring right at you at your current pick put me over the edge.
Oops, commented in the wrong thread before, on my phone. Anyways, really like both picks. Star shakes things up and Milliner, to me, makes more sense than the usual slotted pick there. Nice work.
As for Jordan, he's turning into a lock at 2. All the size and skills you'd want at that 4-3 end spot. Reminds me of a raw Aldon Smith. He should really make an impact in Jacksonville.
Thanks. I've actually had Star to the Chiefs since January (I think I posted that mock on here actually)... nothing has changed for me since then on that one. Devito is a nice pickup as you guys can attest, but he's more of a solid player than a difference-maker IMO.
That front 7 is sure looking studly. They're my sleeper pick to win that division. Not the usual roster of a #1 pick team.
Just checking out Porter's contract & looks like Raiders only signed him to a 1-year. They were likely to be looking for CB in next year's draft if they didn't hit on one in this draft. http://www.overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Tracy Porter&Position=CB&Team=Raiders
I hope PPP10 shows...his track record in the last few drafts hasn't been very good. I vote, if you miss your 1st pick, we aren't waiting 2 more hours for your 2nd pick, which is one pick away.
He's been consistent with responding to my PMs as of late. So I have faith for now. And I'd definitely consider that, lets see how it plays out.
Prepared to make some intriguing picks.....gonna be good to look back toward the end of the next year and see how the picks turn out..... Not only from this 7 round event but also from the earlier 3 round gala.
They always vary, always. Look back into the past years, some picks were excellent, others were curious (not always the GMs fault).
Oh no doubt it's still a crapshoot cause ur dealing with maturity of 20 - 23 year olds. It's usually not the physical limits but the cerebral ones.
