He runs precise routes and can blow the top off a defense, consistently. Although he can likely step in immediately and be an instant starter, Bailey would be fantastic insurance for 2014 if the team decides to part ways with Santonio Holmes. Round Four - Zac Dysert, QB http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=82523&draftyear=2013&genpos=qb Dysert is an accurate quarterback with a history of performing despite an inferior supporting cast. He is tough to bring down and thrives when a play breaks down and can use his legs to keep the play alive. Although he isn't a true dual-threat in the mold of Colin Kaepernick or Russell Wilson, Dysert can make all the throws and scramble when necessary. Round Five - Zac Stacy, RB http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=90027&draftyear=2013&genpos=RB The second part of the two-man Zac Attack, Stacy is an underrated gem out of Vanderbilt University, and draws comparisons to Ray Rice, for good reasons. Stacy would likely be an immediate starter, assisted by Mike Goodson. He's fluid in coverage and has the athleticism to come down with the ball. Williams has good instincts, but will need to work on his strength and tackling form. He can block and is particularly useful in the red-zone. Although he doesn't possess elite speed, and has injury concerns, Lutzenkirchen will make a fantastic late-round prospect and would probably step in as the #2 TE, after Jeff Cumberland.
Like it a lot. I'm becoming a big Okafor fan & hoping he's one of the candidates Jets strongly consider if they skip OLB in round 1. We've got a lot of posts/threads on Tavon Austin here but his partner on the other side is also a really nice pickup. Obviously Tavon Austin is the more dynamic/explosive prospect but Bailey in the 3rd is a nice pickup. If he's not there, I think there's gonna be another decent WR prospect on the same tier. I'm undecided on Dysert. QB needs to be taken somewhere & MM has shown an ability to develop QB. Jets have failed at developing QB in the past but I'm still thinking positive with MM as OC now. Think there's gonna be multiple RB to pick from @ round 5. Too many solid ones bunched up with that round 3-4 grade. I really think there's gonna be round 3 level RB dropping till round 5 because of this. Don't think Duke Williams lasts that long. Lutzenkirchen is somebody I'm not too knowledgeable on. Is he a better red zone threat than the UCLA TE ?
I'm sorry but Safety is a much higher priority then just using a 6th round pick on one. That's the position we need to be targeting in round 2-3. I'd go S in 3rd and WR in 5-6 and that would be a much better mock to me. But as far as the players chosen he did a great job in finding value. IDK if Stedman lasts til the 3rd though. Hear he's rising up boards pretty quickly
Draft isn't too bad but there's a lot of "hope" in this draft in terms of Okafor falling to our 2nd round pick and Duke falling all the way to the 6th (unrealistic IMO).
I really like this draft, I'd be happy if it shook out this way but I doubt some of those guys would be available.
I don't like picking an offensive lineman so high in the draft. That's our chance to grab someone like a pass rusher or playmaker. I know we need an upgrade at the line, but this draft is so deep with OL talent, I think we would be wasting a pick grabbing one that early. Larry Warford and Kyle Long would be great in the second or third round
I'm on the fence with you about this, you cannot be mad if we get Warmack at #9 because it is the safest pick. You solidify this line and we are instantly (IMO) better than we were last year. This gives us the ground game we will need to assist whomever is under center. If we get a play maker and it turns out great awesome, but who is throwing to him?
