If he is available in the 4th, I would take him. I like his accuracy, and apparent quick decision making
This is a guy I'm a big fan of - I like the kid's upside. Good at throwing the football outside of the pocket, and quick decision-making, you see that in all of the kid's tapes. There's value for QBs outside of the first round - kid has got a quick release too. take a look at the game against Ohio State - top flight competition.
he is the kind of prospect i like at qb just based on the current trend. mid level school, not alot of talent around him and was still able to put up good stats. we havent seen a qb come out from a powerhouse and be successful since payton so i think these are the guys to target now
The biggest positive for me on him is that he was a 4 year starter who made progress every year leading to a giant leap in his senior year. I don't understand why he's not projected to go higher given that and his positive measurables. If the Jets want him I think it would be wise to pull the trigger in the 3rd.
Until we get a franchise Qb, we need to take shots on Qbs in every single draft; I think Dysert could very well be that shot this year, though I hope he goes in the 4th and not the 3rd.
Dysert is an interesting prospect. He worked out of the shotgun at Miami (OH) and they did a lot of planned roll outs with him to both sides of the field. This means that he doesn't have as much experience in the pocket as you'd like a WCO QB to have. Playing under center will be a project for him. He's mobile but not fast or elusive. He's hard to bring down on first contact and often gets the ball off with a guy hanging off of him. He's not the kind of guy who is going to force the defense to spy him. The legs get him out of trouble but not much more than that. He throws a lot on the run and his accuracy goes down when he does that. Most of the throws he made were underneath and to the sidelines. That part of the WCO will fit naturally for him. His accuracy underneath seems to be pretty average. Not pinpoint by any means but good enough to get the job done. Velocity on short throws is good and a fair number of balls go off of his receivers hands. He has tipped balls up in the secondary fairly often. His receivers get hit pretty hard after catching the ball. I'm not sure his vision of the field is all that good and he gets picked in traffic at times also. He throws a really pretty ball up the seams and a couple of times a game he'll hit a streaker right on the money for a big gainer. His deep throws do not hang but they'll wobble some now and then. Overall arm strength seems average. I'm not sure his arm is as good as Sanchez was coming out of school. For a 4th round pick you could do worse. He's probably a backup QB with some upside. The mini-Roethlisberger comparisons miss out on the fact that Big Ben has a very good arm. Dysert is ok in that department and he hits a lot of the other Roethlisberger qualities but he's nowhere near the whole package. I'd be ok with him in the 4th. He'd be somebody the Jets could point to as a potential franchise QB. After that it's up to him to raise his play level a lot at the NFL level to make that happen.
I'll say it again like I said a million times before. I would LOVE this pick! He has all the tools to be a franchise QB. He also played behind a terrible OL at Miami. I think this guy could be the real deal
i agree.level of competition is probablykeeping him down. the thing i like is,he doesnt have any elite weapons. this means he has been forced to play qb. not throw it out there to a guy who is the best athlete on the field and always open.we have 2 guys on the roster that were helped immensley by the talent around them
http://nflphilosophy.com/2013-nfl-draft-rankings-quarterbacks/ <-- was going through his site & liked some of his analysis. He talks up the potential of Bray and has some good analysis on multiple QB candidates. Didn't wanna create a whole new thread just for one website. Figured I'd put it here since he describes Zac Dysart as one of the more ready QB to come in and play. ======== I don't agree with everything he states but I do like the depth he puts into his analysis. Don't take this post as my attempt @ pro or anti-Geno.
if he was any good other teams would be trying to get him, isn't that what people say about Geno However Dysert would be nice a WCO, IDK though
