I would love for our draft to start off like so:

Trade Revis with 1st round 2013 pick included.

    First Round:

#9 Jarvis Jones - Yes, there are some concerns, but he has been cleared by doctors of ever having a spinal injury and I think under Rex, the guy could be lethal. He was constantly in the backfield causing havoc. He did run the 40 slow, but he led the nation in sacks and looks like a pure pass rusher. Just what we need.

#13 Tavon Austin - I absolutely LOVE this guy! Plays hard and can be a very scary playmaker. With MM running the offense, I believe he can thrive with the right guy at QB. Him paired with Holmes and Kerley could be something special.

    Second Round:

#39 Travis Kelce - We are in dire need of a TE, and I believe Kelce is the sleeper at this position. He was unable to workout at the combine, but will host a workout for teams. The guy can just flat out play! Love his ability and love his catching skills. Again, with the WCO, I think he could be a great addition to the offense.

I would be ecstatic with the above picks. By doing so, we add the pass rusher we have needed for a long time and 2 big playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. I do think this draft is very deep with talent at the OL position, so I think we can go later and grab someone for that, but the facts are simple, we need a pass rusher and we need playmakers. With the above picks, I think we get the best of both worlds.

Terrible 1st round. Jones is not worth the 9. Austin is redundant with one of the few good players on the team (Kerley). Austin can only play the slot. He'll get manhandled if he played outside. He's also very short and doesn't provide the margin for error to his QB that a larger WR would provide (larger catch-zone, can go up for jump balls, etc). His limitations will make it a lot harder to translate his game to the NFL where the competition is bigger and faster. Not to mention he's more susceptible to injury since he's tiny. Would much rather have a Patterson, Allen, Hopkins, or even Hunter over Austin.

I'm no expert, but I think there's a very good chance Jones and Austin don't get drafted this high (especially Austin).

I love both guys, especially Jarvis Jones. The guy is arguably the best pass rusher in this draft. His 40 does not bother me at all. How often is a linebacker sprinting 40 yards after a QB?

He will be a star in the NFL and I think if we pass him up, it will come back to haunt us. The guy played in the hardest division in college and kicked ass. I would love him at 9

I would do: Warmack and Jones in the first with either DeAndre Hopkins or Tyler Eifert in the second.

I would love Eifert in the second, but I do not see him dropping that far. I think if anything, Green Bay will grab him in the first. If he's there in the second, then hell yeah we take him

What makes Jones not worth the #9 pick?

Austin is going to be a Top 15 pick.

Jones is the wild card, he could go anywhere from #7 to the end of rd 1.

Pretty good mock. Austin is definitely a playmaker and will immediately produce for a team. I don't buy the too small thing. Guy can just flat out play football. With that said, I'd prefer a big WR. Austin at 13 would be reach for us, considering our needs and that we have Kerley to play slot.

That's 3 play makers on 3 picks. Can't really go wrong on that kind of draft given the Jets lack of play makers at this point.

I really just hope they grab Warmack/Cooper in the first round. That would give us the best left side in the league. Remember how deadly that was for Seattle years ago.

Also, I'm pumped somebody finally brought up that we are in desperate need for a tight end. I'd be on board with a tight end in the 2nd or 3rd round.

The problem in that scenario is that you are looking at a Cleveland Browns scenario with it. Too much in the trenches and not enough for all that force to multiply.

I'd take Warmack or Cooper if the Jets could trade down to the 20 range or thereabouts and pick up an extra 2nd in the process. Chance Warmack and Keenan Allen is good value for the 9 pick.

True, but we are rebuilding. And you build inside out. If we had 9 and 13, I believe we could grab Warmack/Cooper with the 13th and trade 9 back. Only thing is we would have to find a trade partner. I don't think anyone is too desperate to trade up in THIS draft.

Cooper on the 13 is probably a give away on value. DeCastro went in the 20's last year where a good guard is supposed to be valued. Even if you think Warmack is something special and breaks the rules Cooper clearly is not and does not.

It's important not to get caught up in ranking a position and just checking down the list at that position if the top guy is gone when you pick. That's how you really stray from BPA and give up value.

I'm almost certain that if Warmack was the guy the Jets were looking for on a given pick but he went in front of it that the one guy they shouldn't then take on that pick is Cooper.

I agree. I'm all for BPA. Warmack/Cooper at 13 could possibly be BPA as well as fill a need. Also a safe pick, that will contribute for a decade.

Warmack and Cooper will both go top 15 btw. Unless people start pulling triggers on QB's in the top 10.

i like the idea of warmack at 13. he is a nice safe pick at a position of need. kinda hedges the bet on jones. austin has some bust potential(size). would rather not take 2 players with risks in the 1st

The problem with Warmack at 13 is that he probably won't make it past Tennessee or San Diego, so most likely if we really want him we need to use the 9th pick. I would sign up for Warmack/OLB, OLB/Cooper, or OLB/(trade back(if possible)) any day if we had the 9th/13th though 13th is a little to high for Cooper.
