Belichick's job was already in jeopardy, if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt they keep losing and eventually they go to Brady. Maybe it pushes back the dynasty but Brady would have been starting sooner than later w/ or w/o Mo's hit.
You think they haven't had a coach telling him to protect the ball? They've tried everything with this kid.. They held his hand like a child, gave him a freakin color coded wrist band to help with his decision making. "Green means its okay to try and throw, yellow means its risky, and red means don't try it.. " "Good boy!" It's not as if they threw him out there to the wolves.. obviously they've been telling him to protect the damn football. But it hasn't sunk in... that's on him. He hasn't learned and probably never will. Give it up already
the color coded thing happened late in his rookie year after a couple of bad games. They did throw him to the wolves and as he began to get better they started allowing the talent around him to erode to the point where he had no help a year ago and was mentally shot. he is salvageable, whether it can be done here or not I don't know.
A little selective memory here: He cites Chad winning that game in New England, and crushing the Packers to win the AFC East, but he convieniently omits that STINKER he played at Chicago against an awful Bears team between those two wins. Nearly ruined my $%^#ing honeymoon.
He never got better Junc! And give me a break how much talent does this kid need to work with? Is it really too much to ask a kid you drafted in the top 5 to actually make those around him better - - in his 4th season?
Once things shook out the way they did the last 2 weeks it made that Chi game irrelevant and while he didn't have a good game he wasn't awful at Chi. he wasn't turning it over and he did have us driving for the game tying TD until Chrebet tried to dive into the EZ from the 15 and fumbled the ball.
he got much better in year 2, made some strides in year 3 then regressed last year w/ no help. No QB could make our healthy receiving corp from 2012 look good.
Hate is blinding. Just like Love. You have two camps, the realistic Sanchez people, that know hes played like shit, but consider the externalities...and the Revis is God ballwashers that refuse to even consider basic salary cap implications pr rhe current market (or lack thereof..one guy has us getting 5 picks, and most others are over 10m per when e ery other corner is at 5 or less) Just sayin.
You know its funny...when the Jets were pursuing Aso the same people were talking about how great he is. When he signed for three for a year, he sucked. Revis homers.
Well this year will make everyone understand...or will there be more excuses? I believe it has been a given by keeping Rex that this is Sanchez's make or break year.
this doesn't make a single ounce of sense, and is borderline illiterate in structure. I would respond, but it would clearly be useless, and this is not even the correct thread.
No doubt about it, but lets be realistic about what happened in 2012. It wasn't all Sanchez. Yes, he looked like shit, but he had dog shit to work with as well.
The quarterback gets all of the credit and blame for a team - that's why. External factors don't matter - only what appears on the stat sheet
If you could do it over...would you still take Sanchez where he was picked? Do you think he should be the starter this year? If so how do you think he will do.
I'm not a fan of trading up, so I wouldn't trade up to take him. He would of been gone by the time we selected him. Josh Freeman puts up nice stats, but he doesn't play well under pressure neither. If the Jets were on the clock with their original pick, I would of selected Sanchez if he were there. Less guaranteed money - I wouldn't of put him through the shit situation the Jets put him through either. We really don't have much of a choice this year. Better off seeing what he's got with a proven OC and healthy weapons. He needs to earn the job fair and square all money factors aside. I don't anticipate us being very good this year anyway - so let the cards fall where they may. If everyone stays healthy, I think he plays like he did in his 2nd season to middle of his 3rd year before the Giant collapse - the prospect of Mark playing average (or above average which won't happen) this season is very unknown because we really don't know how his mental psyche is at this stage of his career. If he has any will and determination left in him to succeed, he could play well. I would get nervous the moment he receives that first big hit though and how he reacts. I want the kid to succeed though.
That's fare... IMHO there's no QB in this years draft worth taking a first round chance on. It's gonna be interesting to see how Rex handles this.
Still not an excuse for the performance he gave us. The team needed him to finally step up and play well, and he responded by being the worst QB in the league. Tough to succeed? Ok. Being ranked 35th in a 32 team league? Are you kidding me?? Pennington was one of the top QBs in 2008 with a damaged shoulder and throwing to Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess, Anthony Fasano and Doug Martin. Which one of those guys is going to the Hall of Fame? He was a smart player, and a good leader who got the most out of the people around him. Sanchez is a bad quarterback who needs to be carried, or even worse - hidden by the people around him. It's not hatred. It's simply looking at what's right in front of my eyes. This is not a guy we can build our future around.
Chad didn't have Brady to worry about, he had Favre destroying the Jets season in NY and one of the easiest scheds in the history of the league so please don't compare the two. Chad also had a great run game and a good defense that year, Chad was also in year 9. Mark had nothing to work with, no receivers, no ground game, the D looked better than it actually was, the STs were brutal. To blame Mark is just needing a scapegoat.
