I disagree. I think Moore might have the highest potential or a pure pass rusher. He doesn't have the physicality or elusiveness, but his play and stats can't be denied and his knowledge of his position is commendable. I think he would do very well with Rex (though he's not my favorite OLB)

It's looking more and more like geno smith is going to be sitting there when jets are on the clock. He would give us some hope for this year at the qb position. I don't see us being 1 of the 3 worst team next season where we would have the 1,2, or 3 pick to get bridgewater or Johnny football. I wouldn't be mad if we took geno but it's also not my number one choice. I guess we will just wait and see what happens just 23 days away

Well with Palmer being sent to the Cards and Flynn going to Oakland, I don't really see anyone left that will even take Geno in the first round.
Maybe Jacksonville, but are they willing to take that big of a reach at #2?

The only other teams I could even see thinking about it would be STL, only because they have two 1st round picks, or Minnesota.

Jacksonville maybe but I think they'll take EJ Manuel in the 2nd before Philly can

Also Sam Bradford is the franchise QB in STL while Minnesota has other issues than QB

Right, so honestly I see him falling out of the first round entirely unless someone trades back into the 1st round.

anyone watch NFL networks rookie show about the 2009 draft......sanchez says that the hawks were supposed to draft him at 4 and they picked curry instead.

    the rest is history.

alot about crabtree in there as well. of course theres a clip showing him driving off in a brand spankin new 650 beemer, BEFORE he is signed. geez the money that gets dangled in front of these guys is unreal.

If Smith is there at 9 there is no team left in the 1st round that will take him absent a tradeup. If we were going to take him I would rather trade back 10-15 picks and get better value for him. If someone trades up and beats us to him its not a big loss. Every QB in this draft has flaws and is a big risk. A round 2-5 QB seems much more appealing as we can move on so much more quickly if they fail. The problem is finding a team to trade up. The draft is very weak at the top end but deep in rounds 2-4. Our 9 pick is much more like a normal drafts 20 pick. I would love to see us be able to move out of it no matter who we end up taking.

I like the idea of trading back as well, may still be able to get someone pretty good another half dozen or so spots back. I'm not keen on drafting Smith but it would hurt a bit less at the 15 spot with some extra picks thrown in as well.

The Revis situation is a factor too. If they do get the Bucs pick they could draft someone other than Smith at 9th and if he's still there at 13th pick him then. Still would prefer not to and get our QB next year but it's seeming more and more likely Smith is a Jet by the end of the month.

Forget it, guys. Palmer's contract guarantees only 1 year, 2nd is optional. I bet AZ is planning to pick Smith with their first pick and have him develop behind Palmer for 1, maybe 2 years. He won't be on the table for Jets.

Theyve shown more interest in Barkley and Glennon than Smith...

If we're going to have a new HC next year then I don't want them taking Geno.
If we had 9 and 13, I'd rather OLB and Warmack.
Then hopefully grab our QB next year with our HC in place.

this is a very legitimate thing that people need to realize. besides smith having inherent risk as a top ten pick, there is a 50/50 chance the rest of the staff will be blown up after next year.....

the position that is obviously most affected by the revolving coach door is - QB

this has to be one of the reasons why idzik may ultimately not select a QB so high.

As I said before this evaluation:

    - PLEASE pay attention to the history of the "air raid"
    - Smith does not make reads, go through progressions. It's as gimmicky as the Tebkw offense, just passing based
    - Smith wasn't forced to throw a lot. That's what the offense is. Read up on Mike Leach for the love of god.
    - ANY KID who is from South Florida who ends up at WVU is a kid who lacks the mental aspects of the game. Unacceptable for a QB.
    - the only reason a kid goes to WVU from a hotbed of recruiting is bc he didn't feel like improving his test score to get into a real school. WVU has built its program on being the retard haven for kids who don't want to try a little harder to make a school.
    - the kid got OWNED by better DCs, and is a below average QB against top 50 defenses.

He isn't a running QB. He doesn't possess great mechanics. He doesn't have any grasp of coverages.

With a new HC I'd want Geno at #9... in our current lame-duck situation I'd prefer we go in some other direction and wait another year before drafting a QB.

However if we do draft Smith @ 9 I wouldn't be pissed...

I listened to Smith in an interview and he was anything but quick or intelligent. I know 3rd graders who could talk better and if the person doing the interview did "you know" then he wouldn't have asked the question.

"You know" what type of real college education a player received by how many "you know" which he pronouced "Ya", "umm", and "that" are in a short conversation. When you plan on spending a lot of time infront of the camera and doing interviews, learn something about speach for god's sake.... He sounded like a stupid jock who knows nothing but football.

For an English major in college it makes you wonder if he was ever in class. I really hope he is gone by pick #9.
