Not really sure of your intentions with posting that, as it proves actually what everyone is saying... That he was born with a silver spoon and hasn't run anything in his life.. The "Johnson Company" is just a way in which he manages his assets. By incorporating it as a private investment firm, he can get tax breaks and the government can't get their hands on his assets, namely when he passes. You or I could become Chairman and CEO of our own personal private investment firm if we wanted to file all the paperwork, etc. He obviously has a big issue with the government taxing him, judging by the ensuring paragraph and his support of his wall street buddy Romney.. His charitable endeavors are commendable though.
His four year deal was supposed to only be a band aid. From my understanding he should have already extended his contract or resigned with a whole other contract. That's what the deal was supposed to be to begin with. He's not crying about anything. Being one of the best defenders in the league the man deserves a long term deal and deserves to be paid.
The Jets have the space to absorb the extra hit at this point. If they trade him before the workout bonus kicks in they actually have a slightly lower hit to absorb since the acquiring team will then be responsible for that bonus or more likely will rework the contract in a way that it no longer applies. I think I buy the idea that the Jets and Bucs have a deal worked out by Apr 21st that could go two different ways, with the 13 plus some stuff or the Bucs 2nd this year, 1st next year plus more stuff. That allows the Bucs to have Revis in for a physical before the draft and to negotiate with him before the trade is finalized. Then we get down to the 13 and the trade happens if the Bucs want to give it up instead of giving up the other package which will be a bit more value overall. If not we wait until the 43 and the trade happens then once the Bucs go on the clock. Both scenarios give the Jets the element of surprise on the deal in terms of other people trading up in front of them and both build some tension and suspense for the fans. It would be a win-win-win for the Jets, Bucs and the fans.
PURE SPECULATION, but kind of interesting nonetheless... Tim Tebow Excluded from Musical QBs The Bucs are an interesting team. Josh Freeman is the incumbent, but he's heading into the final year of his contract. His backups are Dan Orlovsky and Adam Weber. Tebow would be a huge draw in the state of Florida. Hey -- who knows? -- maybe the Jets are holding on to Tebow to include him in a Darrelle Revis package.

Not sure how that's win-win for the Jets or Jets fans... I also don't think this is the scenario because these Jets can't keep a secret... If there was some sort of handshake deal it would be all over twitter/every sports outlet in the country. I think it's more likely the Revis to Tampa trade talks are in a stalemate, that's why there's nothing coming out. However, if the scenario you laid out is true, I will say the Jets are at least making progress in the whole keeping things under-wraps department.
This would be a huge part of the win-win for the Jets and the fans. If this got kept under wraps until the trade broke you have the absolute end of Deep Throat.

(Other than the rumor that Woody was looking to trade Revis the day he was introduced) Pretty much every signing and move the Jets have made since Idzik took over have been quiet and the beat writers had no real scoops up until the deal is official
Pretty much every signing has been really minor though... not really worth breaking news of a signing of a career backup. The Revis saga has been very public, Idzik or not.
Has it been though? Since the initial report, has anything come from the Jets end? Especially anything of significance or remotely true? We've heard some leaks from down in Tampa, and a lot of baseless speculation from the Jets' beat writers.
I'm thinking most of the leaks have come from Revis agents, a few from the Bucs and only the "Woody wants to trade Revis" in January from the Jets. In fact the January rumor could very easily have come from a GM interview and not actually represented a leak at all.
Hes not going to get 15-16 million But everyone is undervaluing Revis. He is like having two defenders on the field. Having him ot is part of the reason why are run defense struggled. We couldnt keep that extra defender in the box because we needed help in coverage, mainly kyle wilson and tight ends. yes are linebackers were old and slow but revis being out hurt are defense more then we realize it. If we keep revis and add a true pass rusher in the draft and a free safety you will see the turnovers increase and see what happens when the ball is thrown because the qb is about to get drilled. pass rush leads to interceptions and we havent had a decent pass rush in a coons age. Wilk, Coples, Barnes, Jordan/jones/or ansah will cause some havoc, and heres a dark horse Ricky Sapp. I'm really hoping he can make an impact. But back to Revis, he is a future hall of famer/legand and imo the best cover corner to ever play the game. I dont want the jets to get rid of that type of player. Unless we are getting something great in return 2 1st rounders plus a 3rd
Disagree with the 1st part. For starved Jets beat writers anything coming out of Jets would be worth jumping on. Mehta, Cimini and Co would be all over. "Woody farted in church" would be worth a backpage with 2 follow up opinion pieces.

You just don't get it, do you? Nobody hates Revis the Cornerback. Everybody hates Revis holdouts, and Revis the 16M player that he will never be, but he demands to be.
And Revis apologists fail to value the "at what cost" to the TEAM scenario said "shut down" corner is worth. But to say I don’t understand football because I don’t "value" Revis and his perceived worth to the TEAM the same you do, doesn’t in any way indicate I don’t know football. What you need to understand is that Revi’s financial worth on the Jets is deferent than it is on other teams… Get a grip
First of all i said some of the Revis haters. Those who I am referring to are the ones who deny the value in today's NFL of a shut down corner. OF COURSE even a QB can be overpaid, despite the position's importance, and I have never said I would keep Revis no matter what it took. But... if you only think the best CB in the league is worth no more than a fraction of, say, a top fifteen Qb, then you don't know football. Heh.
