I want to see where you guys stand on this. As we approach the draft, our interests seem to be in taking a QB. David Lee was seen at Barkley's pro day. We have sent our staff out to quite a few QB workouts. Either it is a smoke screen or we are looking for one in this draft.

So, here are a few situations I see us being involved in. Which would you take?

If Nassib is there at #72 I think its worth a shot.

I see smith, Barkly, and Manuel all gone in the first. I think we will look towards drafting a day two QB with Guys like Nassib or Dysert being the target. Not overly happy about it, but just how I see things playing out come draft day.

That's why I put them in the first pick choices. After the first round, I see them gone also. I do see EJ Manuel falling to us in the second though. I think he will go first, but it is very possible he falls to the second

Agreed, I voted for him in the second, but I would have liked this to be one of the choose several options polls.

I think a guy like Manuel may be something we trade down for. Big arm, big strong frame, mobility, but needs some time. We could be a good situation for him. I think Barkley would do well in the MM offense and is a true leader, but I just don't see us taking a QB with an average arm. Nassib would be a good value in the second, Dysert in the 4th or 5th. One thing about this year, we could do just about anything so it's exciting. A Revis trade? One or several trade downs? I hope not a trade up? Who the hell knows.

Wherever the value is right and I could live with the pick afterwards. If you take a high pick QB as a GM you have just put half your job on the line. In that circumstance you have to be very comfortable with the pick and you have to be fairly certain it works out.

If you never commit on a QB you're going to wash out over a matter of seasons also so it's not like you have a choice in the matter. Find your guy at the place where he makes sense and pull the trigger.

I'd expect Idzik to take a QB by the 6th round in this draft. Even if he's waiting for 2014 he's going to want a guy with some upside on the roster this year and no QB on the Jets has that right now.

I think Barkley's arm is only improving after his surgery. Have you seen the video of him at his pro day? Guy makes some solid throws.

    Here check it out:

How does EJ compare to guys like Kap or Wilson with the read option...i know his numbers have improved over the years but is he the kind of QB to build around

I'm thinking the same thing. My hope is still to get our QB in next year's draft (so no to Geno Smith) but doesn't mean you give up a bargain. If he's there he's there and you definitely think about it, if you don't have someone higher on your board available at the time then you pick him up there.

I DO NOT want a QB in the first 2 rounds of the draft. We're not in a position to let a QB sit on the bench and learn and we don't have a talented offense. Let's not make the same mistake again. There are other holes on the team and I'd love to have some wideouts in place for a franchise QB.

Going in 2014, Holmes will be gone and we'll have Kerley Hill and Cumberland. We have to find some skill at wideout/tight end for our QB of the future.

Sean Renfree with a 5th round pick. That's the earliest I would draft a QB in this draft. The Jets have far too many needs. Offense and defense.

There isn 't a year when you don't have holes to fill. Taking a QB (which I am not in favor of) actually makes sense since Jet fans have lowered expectations this season and can afford to let a prospect sit a year and learn.

I do have several questions for you: 1. What kind of fan wants their team to fail for a better draft pick even before the season starts? 2. What has Bridgewater done to even deserve top five consideration? His team doesn't play top teams, so we have no clue how he will read complicated defenses. 3. How many screen names is that for you now?

I think you need to do some research on Bridgewater. Ethnicity has nothing to do with how good this kid could be. Did you even watch Louisville vs FL Bowl Game?

    1st- Geno
    2nd- Manuel, Wilson, Barkley
3rd & Beyond- whoever s left that we like best.

Bottom line is we need to draft a QB this year with at the very least more upside then McElroy.

I like EJ Manuel a lot. If he is there in the 2nd (I highly, highly doubt he will be) I would scoop him up for sure.

I edited that part of my post because I realized it wasn't fair. I'm sorry you responded in the 90 seconds before I could delete that sentence.

I believe rivalry weekend thru the Bowl games are as real as Professional wrestling. I judge a player's ability by the bulk of his work, not on a single game that may or may not have been fixed.

However, if people want to judge a player by his single best game, that would explain why so many Jet fans loved the Gholston pick when it was made. He did make Jake Long look like a puppet in his one prime time game.

I don't know if Bridgewater is the real deal or not. He is a one year starter at Louisville. I've seen nothing to suggest he will or should be selected before McCarron, Murray, Boyd and several other top QBs from winning programs.

Regardless, it doesn't explain how a Jet fan can root for the team to tank games and esp the entire season for a draft position.

Ah it's all good haha, I just saw the ethnicity part and I was like "whaaatt?" Bridgewater is pretty legit though and he can dissect a defense - I just worry about his overall strength. He's got 2 seasons under his belt. McCarron has that "Ken Dorsey" feeling about him. Murray should be interested as is Boyd. I like Boyd.

Regardless, I never want to see my team tank. That's hard to watch your team not put in any effort. Plus tanking would ultimately be the end of Rex Ryan

McElroy? Really? The next QB needs to be better than MS and everyone else. McElroy sucks

Nassib at #72 would be great, but not realistic. I wouldn't mind taking him at #39.
