Because he doesn't throw the ball, catch the ball, or run with the ball.

Haha I hit no because I thought it would say no he won't play for the Jets. Guess I should have taken my time.

I'll be surprised if Revis plays a game for us next season. I think Idzik will take 2014 picks for Revis in the end. If it is a 1st and a 2nd as reported it would just be too much not to take especially with the cap space it will free up in the future.

Thats just ridiculous. Defensive players can have just as big or bigger than an impact than any player on offense short of a QB if its a top QB. JJ Watt had a bigger impact on the Texans than Schaub and maybe even Foster.

They can have an effest, but we can't score. It's a scoring league.

I see him in Tampa when ever he's able to return this season but the picks will be in 2014.

If he stays do you think he will give 100%? I know he cant hold out this season because that would void his contract. But if he is just a 1 year rental then so be it I just wish all the hoopla would end already so we could get back to getting ready for the season.

Unless he falls off a motorcycle and tears his ACL sometime in the near future, Revis is as good as gone.

Let's say it goes down the path...you bet your ass he gives 100%! Anything less doesn't net him the last remaining BIG payday he is going to get. Let's face it. This is his last big contract. If he can somehow maintain his health and level of play then MAYBE he pulls down one more but more realistic would be a series of one year deals as he goes.

No, if is still on the roster come season opener...he plays and he plays his ass off. period.

The poll was a little misleading... The thread title is "Do you think Revis will play for the Jets this season?" and then the answers are Yes and No, but the opposite of what the thread title is asking...

Screwed up my vote haha. I read a little too fast.

    I like Revis.

I would love to keep Revis as a Jet. Retire his jersey and say he was the best corner ever. However I would like to win a Super Bowl in my life time too. As much as I can't stand our owner, Woody has a point you can not build a team around 1 player unless it's a franchise QB. I say trade him now for the best offer. Take whatever picks we can get for him!

All players give 100% effort when they're about to enter FA.

this above. here's a great chance to get the extra pic's for aquiring a franchize qb. there's no top notch qb in this years draft, so take the 2014 picks from the buc's. one cb shouldn't get qb money. it's a passing league, teams need multible decent cb for coverage at reasonable $$$

I htink the timing of Revis's return from injury and the pre and post June 1 effects on the cap are working against a trade. That and a lowering somewhat of the market value of high priced FA's, leading to a lack of willingness of another team to offer too much without knowing what the market price of an extension would be for Revis, are all working against Woody's emotional intent to trade him. So I voted no, he will likely not be traded.

yeah the title and poll are asking completely opposite questions. i am going to guarantee that many people voted the wrong way because they didnt read teh poll question.

i didnt vote because i have absolutely no idea what is going to happen, and that in itself is refreshing! its nice not knowing anything about whats going on, it tells me they have shut down the leaks and are at least conducting themselves as professionals.

No, he won't be traded. It doesn't sound like anyone is putting out serious offers for him. As a result, he won't be traded.

Darrelle Revis is going to be 29 before opening day 2014. Anybody thinking that the Jets are going to tie him up long-term at this point had better hope for an immediate turnaround next season because rebuilding teams don't lockup 29 year old superstars. It's not how rebuilding is done.

I voted no. If it happens, it will happen later when his value improved. Dumping him now we won't get as good value.
