Whole world is crazy about soccer(real football) and you guys couldn't care less.

    But

There are 207 nations and only 1 country enjoys college basketball and President fills out Brackets?

    What the fuck?

It's a tournament where any team can win. It's one game elimination, so basically being the favorite doesn't really matter. There are a ton of games going on, you try to predict what will happen. You discover a lot of college players who become good in the NBA in this tournament. By the nature of having so many games, you have so many crazy moment, upsets, close games.

Soccer isn't as popular here because the quality of soccer here isn't good compared to the rest of the world. If USA had the best soccer league, I'm sure tons of people would go and watch/enjoy it. There really aren't that many soccer teams you can relate to growing up/ or tons of games to watch.

That's what I'm saying, does the rule differentiate between a pass or shot? The NBA one doesn't is what I'm saying, just as long as the ball hits the rim. There are so many little differences in college ball I have trouble keeping up

I didn't expect to get to sweet 16. This one is tough because after 11 point lead officiating changed and helped Ku back in it and get big lead. Withey must have had 12 fouls, called for one but they got Carolina on touch fouls

Watchign Kansas annhilate UNC today, I could not help but wonder what Villanova would look like if they had a head coach with half the talent of a Bill Self. Imagine a coach who actually stressed fundamental basketball, like perimiter defense? Kansas did exactly what Villanova did to score: they attacked inside, and kicked it back outside when the frontcourt drew the double team. The difference was their coach actually understood enough fundamental basketball to implement a real perimiter defense against an outside shooting team.

Then again, Wright sure looks good in those suits.

You never have to say "as long as Duke doesn't win", that's always a given nobody wants them to win

Annihilation is what the heels did to Villanova in the final four.

FGC always gets off to the races on any loose ball. Usually get 2 points out of it too. It's reckless, but not too reckless

Good point. That ties into the single elimination idea, easy to bet/gamble/make wagers. And the best team usually doesn't win.

Compare that to the NBA or baseball. Both have extended playoffs, no single elimination. It's not a coincidence everyone loves game 7s in those sports and NHL in the playoffs. Everything comes down to one game. The NHL is probably the sport that ties into the "American" idea the most in my opinion, but the lockouts have really hurt the NHL and the lack of ESPN (huge provider of sports here) showing games and because of this, less coverage.

The NCAA tournament does this, except for 68 teams!

    Sir

    I respect you.

You are one of the few posters I want to meet in real life. But, in other parts of the world, people die for soccer. Literally. Forget about fun or anything. Like Diego Armando Maradona(the best soccer player that lived. Even better than Pele) says. Soccer is not life and death. It is more than that.

College basketball. Fun etc but tell me

Why do you think 206 nations are crazy about soccer and you guys are crazy about college basketball including your President. 206 nations are dumb and only you Americans know how to enjoy a good sports?
