 Gottlieb's partner claims Wichita State's Baker is a 69% free throw shooter. They immediately put a box up saying 75%. Guy ignores it. Soon after, Gottlieb screwed up describing a call, also didn't admit his error (claimed a guy was not allowed to enter the game, but he was allowed in). Gonzaga on the ropes.
Can someone explain the inbounds violation called against zaga? Ended up being a big play which led to a 3 by WIchita.
Can we all agree what a complete and utter joke the Gonzaga basketball program is? Any team in the country can have two losses playing in a conference that most high school teams would run the table against.
if that were the case, more of the teams in that conference would have only two losses, and it would happen every year. but they don't and it doesn't. that isn't to say that Gonzaga with 2 losses is as good as Indiana or Louisville, but your argument doesn't even hold up to its own weight. beyond that, the history of the tournament is a history of upsets. if Gonzaga is upset they are frauds, but when accepted National powers are upset it is simply an upset? I don't think so.
Wichita state is a 33% shooter from 3 pointers on the year, they shot 50% including 7 in a row in the 2nd half. When you narrow down a 30 game season to 1 game elimination, crazy things happen, that's why everyone loves it.
This. In the first 2 rounds, teams shot 49.8% from 3 vs Gonzaga. Is that just because Gonzaga can't guard it? Both Southern and Wichita were unconscious from 3. The biggest play of the game is when Olynyk went up for a layup and got body slammed with a no call. Then Wichita came right down and Early traveled in the corner and then Baker bagged down another 3. At most, it was a 5-point swing and changed the game. Unbelievable. I would love to see Iowa St beat Ohio St right now!
Ohio State got the ball with a little over a minute left, and Craft foolishly ran the shot clock down. They needed to get a shot up so they could get the ball back. they lucked out on a deflection and did get the ball back, able to take the last shot.
That was terrible. Buckeyes had it with about 29 left, Craft waited until 2 seconds left to start moving. One dribble and takes a contested 3. He made it, but what a low percentage look. He had plenty of time to try to create a good look.
Kellogg had the rule wrong. If your heel is above the restricted area, it still counts as being in the restricted area. Kellogg was praising the officials for noticing the heel was in the air, but that's not the rule. It should've been a block on Craft. Craft also missed a lot of shots late. I didn't like how he played in the final minutes at all, but he did manage to hit the winner.
The officiating in college is spotty at best. They need to review charge/blocks and flagrant fouls with the refs so there is a consistent understand of what they are
UNC needs to slow down this run somehow. Kansas seems to responded to the zone UNC just tried just fine
