I've watched the play, and what you describe simply does not happen. There is no feet shuffling, and there are two steps after Ray is bumped, and not three. You speak as what you are describing is fact. It is not. What you described does not happen.
he took 3 steps, watch the clip below: left, right, left. Ignore the title, it was probably posted by a bitter 'Nova fan that was lucky to be in the game b/c Felton fouled out. w/ that angle you can't see the shuffling at the beginning but I posted that in 2005.
Whoa didn't think my comment would cause such a fracas. It was Macks, not mine. Haha. For the record I don't think he walked... Sent from my Android Device
yes, I know of your grudge against Creighton, but that was not a dirty play two defenders all over him gave him no room. There was obviously no intent By the rules, it was an elbow that made contact above the shoulders so it was called a flagrant.
roflmao @ "keeping unc from the national title" last year like we can just assume they win a title with Marshall. LULZ. Kentucky would have steamrolled them like every other team
UK beat Carolina by a point at home, if you think they would have steamrolled Carolina you know less about CBB than you do about the NFL. Carolina healthy last year was the best team in the Country. awful ending to the 1st half, 9 possessions in a row taking awful shots or making awful passes. This shouldn't be a game but it is, let's hope they come out and try to run their offense rather than rush to take quick, bad shots.
Two flagrants and a technical called now. FGCU player got kicked in the head by G'Town player. This game could get dicey.
Good game 'Nova fans, your team showed a ton of heart tonight. They will be a better team next year as the young guys grow. Your PG is going to be good.
Frustrating Nova game. UNC is the far more athletic team but they're soft and small. Nova destroyed them inside, but we were terrible from behind the arc. UNC has taken 20+ 3s 20 times this year including today, today was the 1st time they were over 50%. UNC was hot like crazy from behind the arc, and it felt like Nova left a lot of points on the board. Nova has won this year by getting to the foul line, and UNC mostly just backs away. Was surprised we were called for more fouls since we were the more assertive team on offense, but UNC wanted no part of Villanova's physicality. But UNC is also extremely athletic and has a few good 3-point shooters. You have to stay with Hairston and Bullock. Nova has given up way too many open threes this year and it burned them again. And UNC made a high percentage of them. That's the difference in the game. Nova loses a lot with Yarou, but Pinkston, Hilliard and Arcidiacono with another year of seasoning along with Dylan Ennis and a solid recruiting class will have tournament expectations for sure. This year, Nova fans expected NIT, so making the NCAA at all was a bonus. 2 biggest shots of the game were Marcus Paige's three when UNC was up by 1. Nova is happy that Paige is launching a long 3 so early in the shot clock late in the game, but then it somehow goes in. Then Pinkston misses an easy layup after Nova steals a late inbounds pass. So many opportunities for Nova to win, but just couldn't get it done. Have loved watching Villanova play all season. Not pretty basketball, but they compete like hell, and watching the young players develop has definitely had its moments. Think Kansas is a soft 1 seed but I don't see UNC winning this game. I had Nova beating UNC in the 2nd round then falling to VCU in my bracket, though I admit that was slightly homerish. Getting down 20 points early on certainly wasn't good either. The guards had never played in the NCAA Tournament before. It showed.
Kansas is such a soft 1 seed. WKU can't shoot at all and is still in this game. If UNC hits threes like they did today, they'll win. Withey can't block threes.
Carolina is soft, the only guy w/ any size(Joel James) is a raw gfreshman who I expect will be really good by the time he leaves but isn't quite ready fopr this stage yet. I did't realize they shot over 50% from 3, I thought they were shooting well but they didn't seem to be shooting as well as in other games so I was very surprised looking at the #s. Can Kansas continue to attack nside? if so they'll likely win, this Carolina team plays more like a typical duke team- live by the 3, die by the 3. I hope they can keep up the good shooting, I want to beat KU so badly, I can't stand them now and they got lucky w/ homecourt they didn't deserve and key injuries to Carolina to beat the Heels last year in a close game so hopefully Carolina can return the favor. I hope KU plays like they did last night. Congrats to Roy Williams on win #700 and winning his first game of the NCAA Tourney yet again, I think it's aamzing he's never lost a 1st rd game especially when we have seen three 2 seeds lose in the opening rd the last 2 years alone.
I still expect Louisville to win the Tourney but the BE has been awful so far and were a bad call(or 2) away from also losing Marquette. It's a fitting way for BE to go out. My philosophy is always to never trust BE teams in March, I almost foolishly picked GU for the FF but luckily thought better of it btw Sun and Thursday. I consider Louisville an ACC team now:grin:
