what safety(ies) would you like the Jets to draft and in what round? I think we should wait till the 3-5 rounds to take a safety. that could leave the following: Tony Jefferson Robert Lester TJ McDonald Phillip Thomas Shamarko Thomas I would love Jefferson in rounds 4 or 5. he's a 2-3 round value guy but had a terrible showing at the combine. of course there's always the possible drafting of Kenny Vacarro if we manage to trade Revis to TB. I wouldn't draft two safeties, because I think we have two young capable guys in Allen and Bush. maybe sign D. Landry or Pollard for a veteran presence.
I still like Rambo. He always seems to be making big plays and would be a good value at our third, don't see him lasting to the 4th though
I'd like to use the 2nd rounder on Matt Elam or Jonathan Cyprien. Then in round 5 & later consider double dipping at safety.
Rambo in the 3rd. Eric Reid would be a nice pick but I'm not down with using a 2nd round pick on a safety.
We need a ball-hawk. I don't know much about College Football, but from the videos I've seen Phillip Thomas looks like he can be that player. We also signed a safety to a future contract at the end of the season. Jaiquawn Jarrett, or however you spell his name. I was looking at some highlights of his yesterday and I was pretty impressed. The kids got skills. He was a second round pick so you know he's got to have to some talent. My question is, how do these future contracts work? Is he a Jet for sure?
I like Swearinger a lot. Good balance of run and pass defense. Fewer holes than a lot of the other guys. Probably my 4th safety after Elam, Vaccaro, and Cyprien. Third round probably. JMO.
Matt Elam in 2nd round. BIG time hitter, i nean big time but the way the rules are changing this may be a bad thing.
