ESPN announcers wondering whether LeBron and Wade are watching the ACC title game, since they're such big fans. Talk about not doing your research. The Heat had a 1 PM game today, at the exact same time as the ACC title game. So I'd wager they're not watching. A lot of money was bet late on UNC. The spread moved from Miami -3 to Miami -1 at tip.
very fast pace, teams not getting the ball inside it's mostly guards shooting threes. Miami up 44-41 at halftime Teams combined 15/29 for three. Obviously a high percentage and as many threes as you'll see attempted in a first half, usually. Contrast with the A10 title game, which also had a 1 PM start. Teams have combined to go 0/6 for three.
You have to think the Canes are playing for a #1 seed. ACC regular and postseason champs deserve a #1 seed. If they don't and Duke does I might explode. I hope nobody watched UNLV shoot themselves out a MWC Championship yesterday. I can't think of a more frustrating team. Greg Anthony said it best... the team with the best 5 players doesn't always win, it's the 5 that play together the best. New Mexico is a team and UNLV is a collection of individuals. That was clearly on display yesterday. I've watched Dave Rice for 2 years and all I can say is if UNLV plays a team in the 1st round that gets good guard play and can force the tempo at their pace they will lose. CBS has them playing Belmont... I would bet the farm on the Bruins if they happened.
On ESPN they're saying Miami is locked into a 2 seed regardless. It would be huge for the program to win an ACC title but as far as the NCAAs, this actually means more to UNC. Their seeding could fluctuate wildly depending on this game. And Duke I'm pretty sure will get a 2. There's five teams that would get a 1 ahead of Duke. A bad loss like that in the first game of the ACC tournament and you don't get a 1. I don't think either should get a 1. Louisville/Indiana/Gonzaga/Kansas I doubt that's changing.
You have to look at the whole picture though, Kansas lost to TCU. They also had a 3 game losing streak. I see them as a #2
their loss to TCU was what was keeping them out of the #1 conversation but then they took the regular season and conference title. I don't think they'll be kept off the 1 line. I think they would be 4th (I ordered the 1 seeds in terms of strength), but who is going to go in over them? Ohio State would get a 2 if they beat Wisconsin today. Duke and Miami I don't think will top a 2, Georgetown, Michigan State, and Michigan didn't make their tournament finals, etc.
What an awesome day for our program... Acc regular and now acc champs... And now a possible one seed... Never thought I'd ever see it on my lifetime...

Louisville and Duke 1 and 2 in Indy. Oregon got robbed. A 12 seed in the Midwest after winning the Pac 12 tourney. MTSU and St. Mary's have a play-in game for an 11 seed.
Oregon... holy shit. I don't think that bodes well for anybody in the PAC 12. If I'm Cal and Colorado I am sweating bullets. BTW did Gumble fuck up and say "the 1st team out of CUSA" ? What a fucking idiot.
UNC got an 8. Roy would face Kansas, his former team, if they beat Villanova. UNC should've been a higher seed.
