Everybody knows what to expect so it won't be bad at all..unlike the past two years when idiots still thought Sanchez was their savior. What will be fun is to hope for (and I think see) a couple of late season upsets which hopefully have some sort of effect on the playoff picture.

I have no idea. I think this seasons is going to be awful. The jets have purged the roster in an attempt to get younger. While I agree this is a product of the jets going all in a few years ago. I still don't like it. Allot of these moves are contingent on the jets drafting well, something historically we have never done well. I know half on this board think idzik is some genious. I'm not convinced.

My biggest frustration with these moves are this. Even if you draft well, this is a new nfl. You can't hold players anymore. Fa and fo office sign rediculious contracts just to manipulate the cap and neithor side has any intention on honoring the contracts.

Rookies, they sign shitty deals and the second they show promise there agents demand new deals and going fwd most teams aren't going to be able to hold there young talant.

Nfl fianancials are a total cluster fuck. I'm not sure how your suppose to develop a team anymore without going over the cap and setting up bs contracts that will never be honored.

Look at the ravens-they won a super bowl and they also are dismantling there whole team. So its not just the jets that have no idea how to work around the financial constraints of the cap and player demands.

Finally-look how many free agents over 30 are available? I know its a much different game than the nba, but this is setting up similiar, where going fwd your going to hvae 1/2 stars and the rest are roll players. Not sure how this will work in the future-so I think this is a now league and I don't think hoping we draft well and give up on a few seasons is nessesarily the anwser- in a few seasons all these young guys will want big money if there any good.

Sorry for the rant and a little off topic, im just perplexed as to what's going on. To me it seems like what ever fo can manipulate the cap the best will end up with the best teams going fwd.

I'll watch this season just like I watch every season. With no expectations and a eye on the future. Anything we do this upcoming season is fine as long as we don't look like amateurs (buttfumbling). If Rex is indeed coaching for his job, then I would like to think we don't have any surprises to look forward to. (videos, tatts, etc.) The circus had damn well better be long gone by opening day in 2013 or there will be hell to pay especially coupled with another losing season.

I thought we would suck before last season started so I'm not the least bit concerned. At least heading into this season we have a #1 overall pick to strive for. I'm looking forward to the 2014 offseason with a new head coach and a top 5 pick in the draft.

Landry was good but this draft is extremely deep @ FS & SS. Pouha was a nice rotational guy but not all-pro good. The rest of that list is players too old or players who suck.

Jesus people, get some perspective. I love watching Jets games. Expectations will be lower, but that doesn't mean watching the games is a waste of time. I'll still have fun and maybe we will surprise some people. Otherwise, why bother?

I see where you're coming from. NFL has adapted almost an NCAA mentality. No matter how great your roster is, be prepared for major turnover in a few years. You simply can't hit one draft, nail a bunch of HOF and expect to keep them all.

At the same time, this roster turnover rate also applies to teams that suck. It's comes in the parity package.

I'm happy watching a young group of players gain experience without the same old tired thirty-somethings blocking their progress.

Besides, I've not seen anything in the squad decimation, Landry excepted, that suggests we'll be worse than last season (but probably not better either)

I agree. Although I loved Rex for standing up for his team when he first came in here, it quickly went from a positive to a negative. Actually winning games also helps back up his talk.

I know we're gonna suck but just as long as the team plays hard and the young guys get a chance to develop then imo it would be worth it.

have to have a sense of humor when watching the butt fumbling jets. too many on this board drink the koolaid. 2 years ago people were claiming sanchise to be elite and i laughed then, as i do now.

i look forward to all the bandwagon fans who only came on in the last 5 years to go find another team.

then i look for young players playing hard. and finding some building blocks for the future.

and i look for no sanchez.

He had 2 decent years and played will in the playoffs. I don't think anyone saw his regression coming. He looks like the worst qb in football. I was never for or against sanchez, I thought he would be decent and get better for a while. I never would have thought 2 years later he would pretty much be the centerpiece in the destruction of the organization. Lol

Everyone, fans and other teams, have low expectations for the Jets this year...we've got them right where we want them.

I'll watch the forthcoming season with low expectation, however I'll watch every game. I'll look to see if our young guys on D start coming into their own giving us a core for the coming years. On O it'll be interesting to see how Morninwheg's WCO will be translate into generating time on the field and hopefully some points given the O looks ridiculously thin.
