Now that the first big wave of free agency has passed, I couldn't help but put together an NFL mock draft that reflects some of the roster changes and combine results. Buffalo trades 1(8) & 2(41) to Detroit for 1(5) San Diego trades (11) & 2(45) to Cleveland for 1(6) Tampa Bay trades 1(13) & 3(73) to Tennessee for 1(10) Arizona trades 2(38), 3(69) & 2014 3rd to Denver for 1(28) 1. Kansas City: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M Tough year to be bad, but KC goes with the BPA 2. Jacksonville: Shariff Floyd, DT, Florida Could see this going in many different ways, but they opt for the explosive interior pass-rusher. 3. Oakland: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia He’s been ruled healthy by some teams. Raiders have needs everywhere and Jones is the best pass rusher in the draft 4. Philadelphia: Star Lotuleti, DT, Utah Assuming he’s healthy, I think the Eagles move to complete their new defensive line 5. Buffalo (f/Det): Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia Buffalo’s best option at QB is Tarvaris Jackson. Smith is a threat to go at #2,3,4,6 and 7. Buffalo gives up just a 2nd to get their potential franchise QB. Arizona would almost certainly take him at #7 and Cleveland at #6 would also be a threat. 6. San Diego (f/Cle): Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan Another trade up; San Diego needs a left tackle. Neither Fisher nor Lane Johnson will be there at #11 7. Arizona: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma With Geno Smith off the board, the Cardinals get their LT 8. Detroit (f/Buf): Ezekial Ansah, DE, BYU The Lions have a huge hole at DE and none happen to have been taken so far. They have their choice here. 9. NY Jets: Dion Jordan, OLB/DE, Oregon Perhaps the BPA and an area of dire need, Jordan makes plenty of sense here. 10. Tampa Bay (f/Ten): Dee Milner, CB, Alabama A shock he’s made it this far, the Bucs could also trade up with the Jets, but the Titans accept 11. Cleveland (f/SD): Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia Seems a bit high, but Austin is a dynamic playmaker who will add something to the Browns offense 12. Miami: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida St The Dolphins signed most of the NFL’s free agents, but could still use a pass rusher and Werner is a nice value. 13. Tennessee (f/TB): Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas The Titans consider Warmack here too, but also need safety help 14. Carolina: Xavier Rhodes, DB, Florida St The Panthers have big holes in the secondary. Rhodes might be able to help at corner or free safety 15. New Orleans: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU The Saints could use another pass rusher for their new defensive scheme 16. St. Louis: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama It’s great when value meets need so well. 17. Pittsburgh: Jonathan Cyprien, S, Florida Int’l May seem a bit high, but I think this is reasonable for Cyprien, who will contribute immediately 18. Dallas: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri Great talent for this pick and a position of need for the transitioning Cowboys 19. NY Giants: D.J. Fluker, OT/OG, Alabama The Giants need help on the offensive line and Fluker should step right in on the right side 20. Chicago: Jonathan Cooper, OG/C, UNC The Bears continue to address their porous offensive line in the offseason 21. Cincinnati: Cordarelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee This is really a BPA pick, but the Bengals could use a guy opposite AJ Green since Mohammad Sanu and Marvin Jones haven’t proven much yet. 22. St. Louis: Keenan Allen, WR, California The Rams need even more help at wideout since losing Brandon Gibson and Danny Ammendola 23. Minnesota: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson The WR run continues as the Vikings get the underrated Hopkins to team with Greg Jennings. 24. Indianapolis: Damontre Moore, OLB/DE, Texas A&M Once a top five consensus, Moore has had a rough post season, but the Colts stop his fall 25. Minnesota: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama The Vikings need some youth on their interior line. 26. Green Bay: Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama The Packers desperately need a starting RB and Lacy is the best available runner 27. Houston: Menelik Watson, OT, Florida St The Texans haven’t really replaced Eric Winston. Watson seems like a great schematic fit 28. Arizona (f/Den): Matt Barkley, QB, USC The Cards got their LT and now opt for their future QB. They’re confident Barkley is less of a “Hollywood” QB than Mark Sanchez or Matt Leinart. If not Barkley, they may move up for E.J. Manuel or Ryan Nassib 29. New England: Sylvester Williams, DT, UNC The Patriots can use some more depth and youth along their defensive line. 30. Atlanta: Tank Carradine, DE, Florida St Likely a higher pick before his injury, Carradine should be a quick starter with the end-needy Falcons 31. San Francisco: Matt Elam, S, Florida The 49ers get the better of Baltimore here, snagging the guy they were probably targeting. 32. Baltimore: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU The Ravens need a lot of help at ILB and Minter is a terrific value 33. Jacksonville: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington 34. San Francisco: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia 35. Philadelphia: E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida St 36. Detroit: Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, UConn 37. Cincinnati: Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas St 38. Denver: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue 39. NY Jets: Giovani Bernard, RB, UNC 40. Tennessee: Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky 41. Detroit (f/Buf): Justin Pugh, OT/OG, Syracuse 42. Miami: Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU 43. Tampa Bay: Jordan Reed, TE, Florida 44. Carolina: Jonathan Hankins, DT, Ohio St 45. Cleveland (f/SD): Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise St 46. St. Louis: Khaseem Green, LB, Rutgers 47. Dallas: Travis Frederick, OG/C, Wisconsin 48. Pittsburgh: Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin 49. NY Giants: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA 50. Chicago: Manti Te’o, ILB, Notre Dame 51. Washington: Eric Reid, S, LSU 52. Minnesota: Robert Alford, CB, SE Louisiana 53. Cincinnati: Jonathan Franklin, RB, UCLA 54. Miami: Jonathan Banks, CB, Mississippi St 55. Green Bay: Vance McDonald, TE, Rice 56. Seattle: Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern St 57. Houston: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee 58. Denver: Jamie Collins, OLB/DE, Southern Miss 59. New England: Robert Woods, WR, USC 60. Atlanta: D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston 61. San Francisco: Logan Ryan, CB, Rutgers 62. Baltimore: Quinton Patton, WR, LA Tech
jordan in the 1st is a given if he is there. i'd rather go t.e. or o.l. in the 2nd. with the addition of goodson and the chance at a decent rb in th 3rd - 4th,looking at gillisilie, i think the top of the 2nd is to high for a rb based on our needs.
Certainly wouldn't be opposed to Matt Elam. I think the Jets will be pretty much going BPA with the exclusion of a limited few positions. If Elam is available, I couldn't be unhappy. I agree. If the board fell that way, it would be questionable whether it'd be more worthwhile to trade down for the extra pick(s) or take the great pass-rushing talent. I think the Bernard selection is more about how the board fell than anything else. Certainly there are a lot of options, but since he's there, it might be tough for the Jets to pass him up.
Great catch. I originally had him mocked to Chicago, but changed the pick to Jonathan Cooper and never adjusted my list. I definitely have Eifert as a late first round guy. I think Ertz would be around when the Jets pick in the 2nd, but I specifically have Jordan Reed and Vance McDonald ahead of Ertz in this mock. However, he would be among the first guys off the board in the 3rd.
I like it, the only thing I would change is the GB pick of RB, the packers and the jets have shown a lot of interest in Christine Michael and he will be picked before any other RB in the draft.

You think so? I know there's talk that he's right near the top of the backs in terms of talent, but there are a lot of other questions with him. Never say never, but I'd be surprised if he went ahead of Eddie Lacy or in the first round.
Despite adding Colon, who is a one year stop gap signing, I take Warford over Bernard in round two, knowing there will still be a quality RB available in round three or four. Great job on the trades, they all make sense for the team moving up and those trading down in the draft can use the extra picks, or in some cases still get thier target anyway.
I kinda want a trade down somewhere early in this draft, preferably in round 1 but I like the 2 guys we got here.... Like if we traded down to TB's 13th spot to give them Milliner and to get us D. Jordan and a 3rd round pick and later round pick, that would be better.
I definitely considered this, but I felt that Dion Jordan could have come off the board during that time. Would certainly love a trade down (this team needs more draft picks than it can ever get), but I wonder what the options for a pass-rusher would be if Jordan was taken before then.
Actually, since Cleveland signed Paul Kruger to team with Jabaal Sheard, I doubt they'll be in the market for a 3-4 OLB anymore. I'd be more concerned with Miami at #12 or any team jumping up to get him. I feel like after him, the 3-4 OLB prospects sort of drop off, unless they really like Barkevious Mingo or Damontre Moore.
Forgot about Kruger...whoops. I think Miami goes O-Line if they can't get Long or CB like Xavier Rhodes if they can't sign a corner.... Maybe NO jumps up but besides that, the Jets can get Dion Jordan actually with a trade down. Its certainly more than plausible.
It's very plausible and I might be slightly overvaluing Dion Jordan. If a team offered a 2nd or a 3rd to move up to #9, it'd be difficult to turn down
On field talent trumps off field problems unless they are extreme. A team in the late second may be willing to take the risk if they see him as a late first/early second talent that drops. I don't see him. Making it out of the third, so him going earlier would not be a huge shock. The kid fucked up badly, but all reports have said that he was open and honest in his interviews. Players with the ability to play Nickel back and be a factor in the return game are a premium pick in today's NFL.
