put up (picks) , or shut up. your owners haven't exactly been breaking the bank on football players, unless you count manchester united. they don't play in the nfl.
If I was a bucs fan I would be dying to get a deal done. Barron, Gohlston, Revis, Wright or draft pick. They have invested some recent picks in their front 4 so if they can sure up the backend, they cold be dangerous. They went all in on Jackson last year, have Williams on the otherside, Doug Martin, and a young strong QB. Their window is the next 3 years, will they open it all the way and splurge for Revis?
Two first round picks , or a first and a second, I would hang up on anyone who said otherwise. Your getting the greatest shutdown corner of all time , in the history of the sport. Since the invention of football there hasnt been a CB has good as Revis, I hear some teams only wanted to give us a 3rd what a slap in the face , They smell blood they think were weak (witch we are)
He may never be the same player again and that's why no one will give us shit for him...trading him now isn't very smart.
While Revis was great for a 3 year stretch, you really should pump the brakes here pale. It will all depend on how he rebounds from this injury. 2 1's is what we would have demanded (maybe a 3 or 4 in the second year as well) if he hadent been injured. He still needs to prove he can play for another 2-3 years at the pre-injury callibor again to be one of the greatest of all time. This is precisely why teams are low balling the Jets. Not to mention his contract demands...
Extend him another year at 8Million and shop him next offseason. It is really the best option for both sides. Revis proves he is the player he said he was and the Jets get ample compensation. Question is, will he do it?
You wonder if step 1 involving compensation to the Jets has been worked out, and all we are waiting for is step 2, compensation to Revis (long term deal).
Can't believe how excited you guys are about the fact that we're about to trade the best player in franchise history. I understand why this needs to be done, but I still hate every single thing about it. Even if we got 2 first round picks, there'd still be a <1% chance of either of them ever becoming as good as Revis.
I don't think anyone is excited. I don't like any part of what the jets are doing here. I think most people have resided themselves to the fact, the jets need to clear the cap space and he will never honor any contract they give him. So they just can't keep him. I woudlnt say anyone is happy about it
I was just being sarcastic because it seemed as if nothing was happening... But apparently (according to the tweet that guy posted), its actually heating up.
The sound of silence is really nice at this point. Nobody but the Jets, the Bucs and possibly Revis and his agents know what is going on at this point and none of those guys are leaking anything definitive.
Yeah its nice... But hopefully they get a deal done soon (preferably before tmw when he gets his 1 mil bonus).
It'd be nice not to pay the bonus but it'd be nicer to get the maximum possible return on Revis at this point. If the Jets have to pay the roster bonus I'm thinking it will indicate that they're really not going to jump at offers just to resolve the situation. That in turn will help their bargaining position.
What makes sense to me is IF there is an offer out there that we are unaware of and that the jets are considering ,,,,it makes sense that they might pull the trigger before this kicks in,,,,so I ask again,,,,do you or anyone lose know what time the 1 million dollars kicks in ?:breakdance:
