Good riddens to Keller. The guy can't block and he is made of glass. The only reason I hear people saying we need him is because Mark Sanchez likes him. The sooner Sanchez and Keller and ex-Jets the sooner the Jets can start building an offense.
I like Cumberland but he's still unproven to me. Keller this year in the 8 games he played pretty much equaled Cumberland's production (receiving wise) in the 15 he played. So while I like Cumberland and am by no means trying to bash him I don't think we can compare him to Keller just yet. Keller has had success in this league, and while he does have a tendency to disappear from time to time I have to put a lot of that on QB performance as well. He's only 1 injury plagued year removed from having 800 receiving yards with Mark Sanchez throwing to him. I just think this will be a move we regret down the road, assuming he doesn't sign an absurd contract.
Cumberland isn't as good, but he is the same type of player. He also obviously didn't start when Keller did so think about that.
Keller started 5 games while played in 8 and Cumberland 12 while playing in 15 according to Pro Football Reference. I agree though that he is the same type of player, I just hope he can give us the same type of production Keller can.
I'm glad for Dustin. Maybe some team will use him, instead of waste his talents. I think the Jets misused him. He was never a great blocker, but the kid had wide receiver speed and they didn't take advantage. I think with the right team, he can an All-Star. The Jets will regret this.
Id like Keller to come back only because we have no other option right now, I heard we had some intrest in Jared Cook did he sign anywhere yet?
I don't think this deal with Miami is gonna happen. They are probably going to look to get a TE in the draft.
Manish Mehta Sounds like Dolphins aren't willing to give TE Dustin Keller a multi-year deal at this point. #nyj
This is our chance to make him a deal. I wasn't so much depressed that they were letting Keller walk, but I think with a WCO he could be lethal. All depends on price.
Well that really sucks. Could have killed two birds with one stone if he left here and went there and stunk it up for a couple of seasons. Oh well, hopefully he goes to the Patriots or Bills.
Why do you want a former Jet in the same division that has shown to be productive? That's not smart thinking.
His brother tweeted that he should get Jared Cook money which is a ridiculous thought. Whether or not he is giving his opinion or if Keller really wants that much is unknown. My guess is he visits Cleveland then makes a decision about his future. Love to have him in Miami but not at 7 mil.
