In these cases we do need a good pass catching RB and we need a good return guy. Always liked Woodhead. Not only could we get contributors but also steal them from the Pats. Thats a 2 for 1 special. The Pats just signed Welker's replacement which leave Edelman in the wind and last year Woodhead saw less time since they drafted a RB. If they were cheap enough I would get them, and it seems cheap is the word around the Jets now. Our only signing so far was a RB no one probably wanted. Woodhead would be welcome back and sell some jerseys, but then what player would want to willing come to the Jets unless no one wanted them.
Leon Washington will also be available -- with Percy on the Vikes Leon is out there. He might command more money, but he is a more well rounded option than McKnight.
leon dont do it please dont do it dude was my favorite player, he cant go to the pats  that one will hurt
There is a reason these guys are not in high demand... system system system. I think teams are onto guys the Pats let walk. Most of them will never be anything away from NE. Welker might be the exception but only because Manning is his QB, if he went to play with Bradford or Ponder he would probably disapear. I want nothing to do with Edelman or Woodhead. Let some other team make those mistakes. We are at an offseason where we need to get it right.
i heard from someone who went to college with him (i believe to be reliable source) that the $$$ different between what they offered vs. what we offered was crazy ... impossible to turn down forgive the cat! ljr
I'd want nothing to do with either guy for the most part. Only guy who would slightly interest me is Woodhead in a small backup role if the deal was right.
We had Woodhead and misused him. He does fit the WCO tho. Edileman is no better than the wr we have. So I don't think either one has a shot in hell of coming here.
I remember reading we offered vet min and they gave him 3 mill. Not hard at all to blame the guy. 2 million is a lot of money when you know it's your last chance to cash.
Woodhead was cut by the Jets twice, can't blame the guy for signing with any team rather than unemployment. He would fit in our new offense, better than McKnight.
I'd sign Edelman to a 1 year, slightly above minimum contract to play special teams and be the 5th wideout. Don't want Woodhead or Leon back, want new blood at RB next year.
Leon adds value at KR, and can compete to play offensive snaps especally 3rd down. I'd like that signing a lot. Edelman adds value at PR, maybe other ST as well as slot WR depth to Kerley. I'd take either for the ST upgrades they'd provide IF on the cheap. We need to improve ST with reliable guys hanging onto the ball. These 2 are very proven in that regard.
After Welker left, I could've sworn Edelman was going to be the guy. Although not as good as Welker, he certainly flashed some resemblance to Welker in the slot. Oh well.
