If the Bucs become a lottery team this season, then we could potentially have two top five draft picks in 2014 (which is considered a great draft).
The market is flooded with cbs and safetys. No one is going to overpay for Revis. Idzik could be using the market to drive his price down and restructure his contract and make him a NYJet for life.
I'd put ballpark on next years Jet pick being 9th to 16th or thereabouts. I'd put ballpark on the Bucs pick at 13th to 20th. So if the Jets have say the 12th pick and the Bucs have the 17th that's enough ammo to go up for the 3rd pick if a franchise QB is sitting there on the 3 because Clowney, Bridgewater and Manziel all came out in the same draft.
Won't happen, they're a borderline playoff team with their secondary potentially improving with the likes of Goldson, Barron, and Revis. I'd say a 16-20 pick is realistic.
We have literally no leverage. If we get next year's first, we should jump on it. If we get a second and next year's first, we should throw a parade. We're bluffing but our cards are exposed.
I disagree. I think we'll need to be in the top 7 to be able to trade that 15-20th pick. Teams will charge us big time for our potential franchise QB, just like the Rams did to the Redskins.
No stud QB and limited top end talent but this draft does have a lot of depth. Great draft for teams who have a lot of picks in rounds 2-4. So it's not "bad", no draft really ever is, but it does lack what last year provided the NFL. (Exceptional OLine draft btw)
If anything The Harvin deal should help the Jets w/ Revis' compensation. You know Harvin will get migraines and will miss practices and games. That's not even considering injuries incurred on field. You don't know if Revis will be slowed down by injury. Which I highly doubt. Bouncing back from ACL repair isn't shit anymore. Shitbags like Cimini just like saying ACL.

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports the lone remaining hangup in a potential deal sending Darrelle Revis to Tampa Bay is Bucs GM Mark Dominik's unwillingness to surrender the 13th pick in April's draft. Per Cole, Bucs management is "fully on board" with dealing for Revis, but Dominik is only willing to part with a 2013 second-rounder or 2014 first-rounder. Realistically, the Jets ought to be willing to take the Bucs' 2014 first-round pick. There will be no surefire franchise quarterback available at No. 13 this year, and next year's draft has a chance to produce better signal callers. Louisville QB Terry Bridgewater is the likeliest 2014 draft-eligible prospect to give South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney a run to be next year's No. 1 overall pick.
Definitely, that's why I'd prefer a 2014 1st over this years first. The more ammo for our next franchise QB, the more the Revis trade is justified.

A 2014 first rounder has a book value of 500 points right now. That's the 16 pick in 2014 at half value because it is a year out. The 13 this year has a value of 1150. I think it's reasonable of the Bucs to want to avoid giving up that 13 pick but I also think they have to do better than a first in 2014 if they want Revis. Yeah, he's not at full health but he's the best CB of the last generation. That's worth more than a single pick a year out. If the Jets come to the conclusion that they'll never get a better offer than that they may have to take it. It's probably worth holding out a bit longer to see if somebody else jumps into the conversation when they realize Revis will go that cheaply.
