I don't think any of the Knicks involved in that brawl were on the team when Melo/Smith joined. Wait maybe Jared Jeffries. I think Nate Robinson tackled JR Smith into the stands. Melo sucker punched/slapped someone the Knicks and backed away quickly as I guess Jeffries went after him while assistants were holding him back by his jersey. It all started because of a hard foul in a blowout (Knicks on the wrong side most likely)

Knicks were getting blown out at MSG and Isiah is a bitch so he sent in Mardy Collins (who was barely playing) in a thug role to try and injure someone. Collins chose to go after JR Smith. Knicks didn't blow teams out under Isiah, but they sure got blown out a lot under that moron. There was 1:15 remaining and the score was 119-100 Nuggets.
