Dustin Keller sucks. Too bad Idzik can't get rid of everyone.

Good guy but imo he's over-rated as a reciever. Guess this year we'll see...

I said he's not great, I didn't say he sucks. I don't know why you think Tannehill is some awesome qb who is going to make him great.

It's not that we don't think he's great, we know he's not a great TE. If he goes to the 'phins you'll like him better than Fasano catching the ball, but not as much as a blocker. The real problem with Keller is that he will literally disappear from the offense for multiple games. He'll have his share of 75-80 yd games, BUT he will also go 2-3 games without making a catch.

As much as I hate the 'phins, I am objective about this. If you think you're getting a GREAT TE, you will be let down, but I think he'll be a decent asset to the passing game and will help RT down the middle of the field...

Maybe if they get a RB..right now it will be a fire drill to see who gets to Tannehill first.

I don't understand why Keller is not a top priority, even if the Jets are not going to do much in FA they should be bringing Keller back. He's a great pass catching tight end who can create tons of mismatches for opposing defenses.

He might not be the greatest blocker but he the Jets can go out and get a blocking tight end to compliment him. The fact that the Jets seem ready to let this guy just walk away is a huge mistake in my opinion. I can understand Idzik trying to gut this team, I can understand him letting guys like Landry go, I can even understand why he wants to trade Revis (even if I dont agree with it) but I don't get why he doesn't seem that interested in wanting Keller back.

    We need this guy ASAP...

After losing Fasano our TE's are fucking atrocious...

Someone must have overtaken Ireland cause he is acting like a real GM...

FTFY (not necessarily a bad thing, but we'll see how it plays out)

Gonna be funny to hear Fin fans talk Keller up after 5 seasons of cutting him down.

Personally, I would've liked him to stay. Fuckin' traitor scum now.

I wonder if Mornhinweg feels that he doesn't need Keller (at what he will cost) for this Offense.

Is this cause for pause ...

How can Dustin Keller have all that speed and average 11.93 per catch from 08-11' when Fasano avg. 12.00 ypc from 08-12?

    TE's are reliant on QB's.

That's true, but Dustin can only be a force if he isn't the main target. Once you start bumping him or force him to block, he disappears. Good player, not great, and needs to improve on his blocking ability

True but Fasano spent 2 and a half years with Henne during that time ...

He's probably a good signing for the Phins, but I'm not too bent out of shape about losing him. He really didn't make our Offense THAT dynamic.

Didn't Cumberland get some sort of tender? I'm going to trust the FO on this one.

True...It all depends on our 5 picks that we have in the top 80 or so...

If Ireland bombs that, its all a waste...

The Jets tendered Cumberland - who is a very similar player. The difference in cost probably doesn't match the difference in skill.

I sure did. And to be honest the way Sanchez played last year even the best receiver or the best TE in the NFL would have had a drop off year.

I do recall though how Jets fans as late as last year boasted how Keller is going to kill us. So he was a good TE last year but now he is not anymore?

Keller may not be the greatest TE in the league but a sure upgrade over Fasano. Philbin and Co had to deal with a lot of players from the past coaching regime. They are now completing the transition and add players who will fit their philosophy.
