No 12 year old kid wasn't deserving.I told you Galatasaray has scumbag fans as well. just like everyYou keep generalizing. Stop it dude. Do I say all English are assholes just because Johny English is acting like one? You said Galatasaray fans are cowards out of Turkey. And I showed you examples that they weren't. Don't twist your truths just to win the argument. Listen. I am not proud of violence. And I condemn thos who killed for Galatasaray. Stop generalizing and I will stop I promise. And sorry for personal shot.
Red card on Manchester United dramatically alters the second leg of their Champions League match with Real Madrid.
Bad call, ref is a joker...garbage. i hate Man U but that is not needed in this kind of game. In any case, Real Madrid is very good but they wont beat one of the german teams (Dortmund or Bayern) Robben will do everything in his power to get that glory 1 more time
The ref was a Turkish guy. His father was a ref too. His father sucked. This guy has seen huge support from his father's friends. He doesn't deserve where he is at. I am not surprised at all. If you wanna google it google him along with his father Ref's name is Cuneyt Cakir His fathers name is Serdar Cakir. I am upset to see Man Utd out due to a crappy call by a stupid and incompetent ref.
"Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end the Germans win." ( Gary Lineker) Not this time Gary, not this time.
On a business trip. Watched the Arsenal-Bayern game at Buffalo Wild Wings today. Arsenal was up 2-0 by 87th minute. They just couldn't get it done. I like Arsenal and I respect Arsene Wenger a lot. I was hoping to play them in the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal drawings are on Friday. I am praying for Malaga or PSG. All other teams can rape Galatasaray. Fingers crossed. Please Malaga please please please
That Arsenal thing is incredible. They almost advanced after being left for dead after the first leg. 2-0 win at Munich?
I can't believe that, I still think they win it in the end. They have built that team to win the Champions League this year but it'll be interesting to see who they draw. I think fans of other teams still in will be rooting for a Barca/Madrid vs Bayern in the quarters. Get one of them out and open up a slot for an unlilkely team to get through.
Malaga wouldn't be bad. PSG I think would be a tough draw. I think worst case is you draw Barca or Madrid. Obviously that's not what you want but it'd be exciting to at least have a shot to play those guys in your stadium. The chances of making the last 4 are slim so why not get to watch against the best in the world? My dream would be to see Madrid vs Barca Malaga vs Juventes PSG vs Munich Dortmund vs Gal
Barry Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona are 3 teams that I don't think we can eliminate on a two leg format. My ideal scenario would be us playing first Malaga than play the winner of Juve-Psg to avoid the top dogs up until Final. Once it is final, we have a shot. Same thing happened in 2000. No way we could beat Arsenal on two leg format. We played them in the final and God helped us to win. Also please note we have beaten Barcelona 2 times in Istanbul already. We beat Real once in Istanbul and once in Monaco at the Super Cup. So no I don't desire to play them this year
So I quoted your first post. It's entertainment. You asked me why we enjoy it, and then say that's still the "Fun factor". That's exact reason why SO many people watch it and fill out brackets. A lot of people have personal ties to schools, personal reason to despise schools, etc. Like you said soccer might be more life and death, but I'm guessing it's a lot of country pride? Sports here is a lot of city pride which will always be different. It's why the WC and WC qualifying games here draws so many fans/viewers/etc in USA. It's because it's USA and it's because the quality is much better than MLS quality. The games have a meaning. In the WC, you lose, your out (outside of pool play but there you have must win games). The most talked about soccer match here in the US is probably the USA-Alegeria game. Why? Because it was basically do-or-die, which Americans love, it came down to a last second basically a game winning play, and it was for tangible things. It's why here in America, this NCAA tournament gets more viewers than the regular season. It's why the playoffs always gets more viewers than the regular season. Me personally, if an EPL game is on live or a UEFA game is one I watch it. I schedule my days around USA WC matches, but I don't watch the MLS. I also don't understand the aggregate idea in UEFA (that's where they use aggregate right?) In USA sports, things are simple. You win, you win. Rarely does how much you win by or give up matter. It's a completely different mindset. I mean doesn't the MLS have a playoff system to cater to American viewers where most European soccer leagues have the table system? Also from the American perspective, the breaks in league play to play tournament games spaced out would be strange. The season is a straightshot followed by the playoffs. From my understand, UEFA tournament takes half a year, starting in DEcemver and ending in May? I'm not saying it's the wrong way to do things, I'm saying American sports are not set up the way soccer is. Add into the fact that USA has some of the lower quality play within their own country in the MLS, people here have to associate themselves with an overseas team if they want really feel part of the excitement. How excited could you get if the game are in a different timezone, you can't go to games, and games aren't on national TV? How excited can you get? While everyone overseas grows up with a soccer team, everyone here grows up with a MLB,NBA,NFL,NHL etc team. Not a soccer team. That's something you only find thorugh actively searching. It's not right or wrong, it's different. Football/Basketball/Baseball has been set up a lot longer and a lot more established than soccer here. Hence the propensity for those sports over soccer. Overseas, it's hockey (canada, russia) that's set up as the main sport, cricket in some places, and soccer in most. It's what infrastructure is usually set up the best.
Sir Thanks for carrying the messages here. I was going to do it but too much tequila. I couldn't do it. Once I am sober we can talk more but it is not about national pride in soccer. I personally don't like our(Turkish) National Team a lot. Because players from my blood rivals are also playing for National team and I don't like to support a team that has those bastards. So I am not a fan of National team But I understand your explanation. Although I am still not satisfied about the FUN factor I respect that. Qauestion: Would you be a fan of a USA National Football team where Tom Brady was the QB, Gronkowski was the TE and Wes Welker was the WR I sure wouldn't. I would say fuck that team I hope I explained my point on National teams a little. I admit I am the minority though. Other soccer fans will take it different. My thing is about my team I have 2 weeks of vacation and using a week to go to Madrid to watch my beloved soccer team Galatasaray against Real Madrid. I know they will rape us but I am still going to the game to carry the yellow and red jersey in the streets of Madrid and maybe beat a few Madridista. I talked too much. Maybe it is the tequila. Now Johny English will come and tell me I am a cunt stabby bastard Galatasray fan Whatever I love JETS J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS
