More cuts and more players on market: Jets releasing Sione Pouha.

Yep. $3.83M cap space was too much to ignore in the situation the Jets are in.

Really hope Kenrick Ellis is ready and able to take over. Or Sione resigns on the cheap.

I've been waiting for this to happen. As posted earlier the 3.8 mill was too much for him. Good guy for the locker room that hopefully is brought back at a lower number.

Perhaps, but I think it might be time to give Sione's role to Kenrick.

If Sione doesn't come back, he's been a great Jet and best of luck to him!!

His back was starting to go... predictable move. Age, weight and back problems don't go well together...

I really liked what I saw of Damon Harrison, hopeing he can make the cut again this year. A young nasty powerful DT. I think he'll get good with more time.

Yep. Pouha is a young 34 due to his career starting so late but he's still 34.

Po'uha was to count $6.2 M on cap. #Jets will get hit with $2.33M. Savings: $3.8M. Back trouble, age big factors. They lose a class act.

    Nice savings!

    +1 Agreed

Pouha is also an example of a guy who wasn't much more than your average JAG at best till Rex came in......love Pouha wish him the best, just pointing out Rex deserves some credit for developing him that's all.

I was thinking about that also. I remember letting Howard Green go and he went on to have an impact with the SB Champion Packers. I want to see some of these young guys on the field

This defense hasn't recovered from Kris Jenkins injuries, we miss his push up the middle

They made 2 title games w/o Jenkins and Pouha was a big reason why were able to overcome jenkins' injuries. Good luck to Sione wherever he lands though i hope he can come back on a lesser deal.

So are we letting DeVito walk? If not, how much of these savings goes to him?
