Sucking ass for a good portion of games and playing on a team with a good D is destined to get any QB some comeback wins no matter their skill level. Just ask Tim Tebow
And all of his comebacks in 2010 were against crap teams. Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, and Houston who ranked 29th in points allowed.
you can stick garrard, mcelroy, or even tebow in there and do better if you fix the o-line. that means at least two guards and a tackle in the draft. then, your qbs are game managers who do not turn ball over, short-quick passing, and defense plays well. since you offense eats up clock by staying on the field, your defense doesn't wilt late in games. i just don't see suckchise as an effective starter this year.
To say we would have won A Super Bowl with another Qb is asinine Mark played great in the Playoff. If we had Brady or Rogers would that have made a difference maybe but that is about it. Sanchez played like a top 10 Qb in the 2010 playoffs. He played liked one of the worst starting QBs in NFL in 2012 with a bunch of extenuating circumstances. He has one more chance lets see what he can do.
I dont get why Matt Moore would wanna stay with the Dolphins where he has zero chance to start unless Tannehill gets injured. He would of been an intresting option to throw in the mix and would of had a legit chance to win the job. I guess its true what they say about backup QBs some of them are afraid of being starters
Sure, Tebow perhaps had more spectacular comebacks in 2011 than Sanchez did in 2010. That's a good point, because the Sanchez supporters should be singing the praises of Tebow as well if they think that "coming through in big situations" enables them to ignore other things and use that as a measuring stick. Tebow came through big against the #1 rated overall defense in overtime (and during regulation) in the playoffs too. The Steelers had the #1 rated passing defense, and Tebow beat them at their own game in the playoffs. You don't hear them talking about how "Tebow" won a game against Kansas City where he completed only 2 passes and how one of those passes was a big TD that decided the game (this happened), either. That was a huge TD, because "Tebow" won by 7 points...he also rushed for a TD. Funny about that double-standard. Nevermind details like recovering onside kicks, his team forcing turnovers, the Steelers playing man-to-man with no deep help in that playoff game, and things like that. They don't matter...it's just that Tebow was the QB and led the team to numerous come from behind victories, including knocking the #1 pass defense's dick in the dirt in the playoffs. The Sanchez supporters don't even really consider Tebow an option, even though he did many of the things they hang their hat on about Sanchez doing. Tebow really only had ONE year to show what he can do, and he came through in big situations, at least by the parameters the Sanchez supporters go by. He doesn't deserve a CONSIDERATION for a shot? Why not? Perhaps they are looking at Tebow's stats, and going by his completion percentage or something. LOL. BTW, I'm not a real fan of Tebow...this is just an illustration of the double-standard. Yep, crap teams or at least favorable situations...and again, Santonio Holmes had more to do with those 2010 regular season comebacks than Sanchez IMO. If the supporters want to continue to throw out these blanket statements like "Sanchez led the team to 4 regular season comebacks," I'd like to hear from them about the details of those comebacks. While they are at it, they should talk about how Tebow's same accomplishments somehow don't count at all.
Whenever I read Junc talk about Peyton Manning, it seems Junc holds Peyton Manning to higher standard than most QBs. Whatever, it's weird to see though. For example, he doesn't care what defense Peyton was facing but does care what weapons Peyton had. That's very one sided way to look at things. Nope. That should be the only answer from everyone here. There are probably 10 QBs right now you would rather have, then the game managers who don't turn it over (best team in football) and then maybe Sanchez. Yep, definitely not enough and inconsistent, you don't know what kind of throw to expect. Wish it was that easy.
Ummm..and I'm going out on a lmb here....because there is more security in taking the Dolphins money, than being expose as hot garbage, and then out of the league? Maybe the guy. Has an honest assessment of his talent level?
It is. Limit the throws down the field and outside the numbers. He completed 54 pct. over 16 games he needs about 5 more completions per hundred attempts to get to 60. Even in the games where he played well, too many throws we're either outside, or down the field. I think he will surprise the haters this season...
Well, if being an NFL caliber athlete, means you'll take less money to be a back up, Imthink that says more about self awareness, than locality. 2 or 3 years at starter pay, and your location in South Beach, improves markedly.
Florida has no state income tax. He would have had to sell his house/condo in a struggling market. He watched Ryan Tannehill hit the wall last season. My guess is that $4M a year in Miami is worth nearly $5M anywhere else given the financial factors in play. The Fins know Moore's skill set and that they were willing to give him that much to backup Tannehill lets him know that he's not off the table as the starter if Tannehill struggles this year. And it's Miami. Who wouldn't want to live in Miami in a decent house if they got the chance?
Yeah ... great plan. Typical Sanchez apologist nonsense. Translation: Let's try to make him as invisible as possible, and keep his bed-shitting, game-killing tendencies to a minimum by limiting our gameplan to throws that most HS QB's can make, and ruling out the throws that actually qualify someone as being an NFL caliber QB. You know ... all those pesky outside the numbers throws, and those long downfield passes that are the staple of all the prolific passing offenses in the game. Even simpler translation: Let's do what we can to try to win despite having the worst QB in the league. Sure ... let's do what you said and hope for the best. Wait a minute! ... why don't we just scap this guy and find a QB who CAN actually be trusted to make NFL caliber throws?? I'm a genius! :breakdance:
There not that much of an issue with the OLine. They were misused last year. They were built for Zone blocking, as swipe Sparano tried to force Power/Angle blocking. Rex should never have let that happen...Tanny should have, and I hope Idzik will, mandate that Rex starts grasping offense thru the offenses eyes, not just from the other side of the ball. He should be sitting in on the entire install this season.
No, you don't win long term or consistently by making him invisible. You win by making him dynamic, like the player you drafted. No NFL QB can flourish when it's run for three, bring in Tebow for 2 or negative yardage, and then force consistent long outside throws... Did you just take the game up....that has not been the way the NFL works for a decade. It's why Parcells knew he could bring in Vinny the perpetual turnover machine his whole career, and win with him. That is what Mohrinweg will do for Sanchez. Sparano actually called two really good games last year, and they both had the same thing in common...getting the ball out quickly and on time. Weeks 1 and 11. Then injuries hit, and they reverted to Run, Tebow, low percentage play. Go to NFL.com, watch Buffalo week one and the St Louis game. That's the offense you're getting this year. Hell even in St.L he only put it up 20 times, but completed 75pct. PS...you're clearly just down on Sanchez. Worst QB in the league? Not by a long stretch. Hell Arizona fielded 3 different guy, Skelton,Linley and Hoyer...that were all worse and sawi significant playing time. and that was throwing to Larry Fitzgerald, not Clyde Gates. Moore and Flynn, lost out to Rookies, before week one...yeah, they'd be upgrades. Blaine Gabbert...not seeing it. josh Freeman...nope.
You guys should know that Hobbes had to flee the politcal threads after people realized he was a troll and stopped responding to him. That is who you are dealing with.
No, I didn't flee the political threads. I stopped watching the news, and FWIW, the lefties are as bad as the Sanchez Hater/Revis ButtBoys crowd. I don't care if any one responds or nt...it's just more appreciated when the response is at least semi intelligent....which leaves you out. Though I think the football forum is a pretty lame way of initiating a personal attack...seems to me you're the troll.
