No, but when someone tries to tell me he didn't do anything in the NE, Mia and Buf games then I can say that person doesn't know what they are watching. You aren't winning in this league w/ poor QB play, the greatest D the league has ever seen couldn't win in postseason w/o quality QB play. It's why the 80s Bears and '00s Ravens only won 1 SB each(only made 1 each) around those great defenses. Our D was never truly great, it was very good at times but not great and yet we won 4 road playoff games. That wasn't an accident, that's not happening w/o quality play at QB. When surrounded w/ quality talent this QB has proven he can win big and that is all that matters.
OMG Jet fans are such nitpickers. He threw 3 TDs who cares if he completed less than 60%? Did I not say he was part of the team and he played his role? We are a run first team and Buffalo could never stop the run hence us running wild on them. Now I understand why Junc says we have the worst fan base because you nitpick the living shit out of the QB. Guarantee you weren't bitching when we went 3-1 and you didn't bitch when we beat NE. Don't call me a fucking Sanchez homer either. I could care less who starts this season as long as they earn it
who said HE won those games? he was part of a team that won those games, he made plays to help the team win.
It is ridiculous for people to say this is a D first team or a run first team as if that minimizes Sanchez' culpability. If Sanchez stepped up and played like a QB taken top 5 the team wouldn't be a run first team or a D first team. It would be a balanced team, which is what wins.
 changing this shit around. I said he played a role, the role he was asked to do, help win games. I never said MARK WON THOSE GAMES BY HIMSELF. He did what was asked of him. Your comprehension needs serious work. Again not homerism. I am not supporting Mark Sanchez, not until he proves to me that he can win a serious competition, if he wins I'll support the guy.
You don't want to throw everything at an immature QB with less than 30 starts (during his 2nd season). It would of took him longer to develop then most QBs. Just make the plays when your asked to do so. When you got a hot LT and a Greene coming in making plays, I'm running the football all day long. I can't believe I am backing Junc and Hobbes right now, but the stupidity of some of these fans left me no choice.
He sucks, he had little to do with us winning. He is garbage, a bust and anyone saying otherwise is doing so in the face of all statistical and anecdotal evidence, probably because they want his cock.
we were a run first team in 2009 only. we won through the air in 2010, we were 8-5 through the air in 2011 before the team fell apart.
You're getting to be a little ridiculous at this point. Sanchez clearly had a big hand in us winning. Stop posting nonsense. He had a terrible 2012, but he was a QB on the rise after the 2010 and 13 games in 2011. He has a lot to fix from last year, but he's shown he's a capapble QB before and I believe he can be again.
I have never and will never say its all on Sanchez. IMO, aside from the poor depth (which our Ex-GM paid for with his job), he was the biggest problem on the team though. It seems like everyone is ready to throw Sparano under the bus for the horrible job, and the same with Tanny in recent years... But when it comes to Sanchez, its always "let's give him another shot". I personally dont understand that. It seems like there's a double standard around here with some posters. I understand that a whole lot goes into each and every play. It only takes 1 out of 11 players to screw up a play. Thats why its a true team sport. The last year and a half, its seemed like Sanchez was one of those players consistently messing a play up, even if others were too. He is the QB of the NY Jets, of course he's going to be more scrutinized than any other player. Things like triple pump faking, then throwing it to the receiver ultimately leading to an interception fall on him. Also things like throwing into triple coverage, or holding onto the ball too long (I understand the receivers may not be open, but how many times can you scream at the TV "throw the ball away!"), or over throwing a receiver- for example Cromartie's go route I think vs the Texans when he had clear separation and he was overthrown by 4 yards, or not reading the defense correctly, not seeing a wide open receiver (Stephen Hill in the endzone vs Seahawks on his INT) or even throwing a screen into a DLman's hands? Believe me, Ive sat there in front of the TV and thought "wtf kind of route was that" or "how is someone like this a WR in the NFL"... I understand that the situation he walked into was one of the worst in the NFL, especially after the injuries. With that said, I expected more from a 4th year veteran QB being paid amongst the best in the NFL. I expected more from our "leader" and "Sanchize"... Even in the worst of situations, I expected him to show more, and at the very least inspire some kind of hope throughout the team and fanbase. Simply put, he didn't.
He had a bad year last year with awful coaching and awful talent on the field with him. He has more on his resume than 2012. He was a QB on the rise and I believe he can be again. Even if his contract was one where we could easily cut him, I'd still want him on the roster. He has stuff he needs to work on, no doubt it. And we need to bring in either someone who can start for us or draft a QB high (despite the lack of a top quality QB) for the future with the expectation that Sanchez just won't get it done. There's no doubt that we have to do that. But I still believe in Mark and I still believe he can get it done. He's proven so once before and if he can shake off 2012, and if we can surround him with actual NFL quality players, I think he can get it done again.
He was a QB on the rise to the unemployment line maybe. Surely such a rising QB wouldnt be a bottom 10 QB ranking wise for 4 years now, right? No matter what players are around him or the built in Sanchez homer excuse of coaching. 3 garbage years and one average year isn't something to write home about. Especially, if he is/was being paid as a TOP 5 QB. It can also be argued that the reason why the coaching didnt turn out so well was due to the garbage play by the QB. Its simply amazing how there are people who still come on here and think this piece of crap is still legit. Do some of you people even watch the games? Unbelievable. Same old Jet fans who accept losing....
There will always be a few fans with blinders on that can't accept the reality that he is garbage and shouldn't ever play another down in NY. No matter how bad he plays, its always someone elses fault like you said. It could be the QB coach, the ball boy, the OL, the receivers, the excuses go on and on. No accountability is ever given and people are still jizzing off of 2009 and 2010 years where the defense was top notch and he was being paid not to lose games. I dont think its just a coincidence that most former Jets basically throw him under the bus as a QB they would never want starting on their team. ESPN analysts, former Jets, other teams players all tell you how this guy is not starting material but some people just come back to reality....
You can pick out plays of any Qb in the league including Brady and Manning and Brees where they have thrown a bad pass or miss read a defense.
He was a Top 5 pick with little experience in college. He is not a ten year vet with a lot of excuses he is a young QB that led this team to two AFCCG that is not making excuses that is fact. He has accountability no doubt but he also got a bum deal. Can you tell me Schotty or Sparano were good OC. Can you tell me we did not have a Rt tackle issue in 2011? Can you tell me it does not matter that every receiver on the team was hurt last season? These are not excuses but fact we were signing receivers off of the scrap heap last year why hell do you think Mccelroy was not active for the Tennessee game. The excuses are now over he has one more chance with a real OC still not sure about weapons but I guess that does not matter becasue Sanchez should make all these crappy receivers great like Brady did with Lloyd oh wait.
The answer to this pointless debate lies in the 2013 season for Sanchez. When he sucks and the team goes 6-10, largely due to his poor play, that will put an end to any and all debates about his ability. It will just support and reaffirm what most level headed fans have been saying for the last 2 years, and his whole career to a lesser degree. And then when the Jets dump him and he holds a clipboard somewhere else for a few years it will clearly show that he was a mediocre QB at best. This is all assuming that Sanchez starts all of next season which I don't think will happen.
Qbs have turned it around, not as late as year 5 though. Maybe Sanchez might be the first to write the script.
Again lets be real, what Qb succeeds with no #1 reciever, shit run game, poor O line? Sanchez was decent with LT, Edwards, Holmes. Imagine stripping Flacco of Rice, Boldin and Smith? Well thats what happened to Mark.
