Where do you get that? I've got doubts Sanchez can consistently be a top 16 QB. Even if he's given "the weapons".
Nonsense. Best thing these boards have is having fans from other teams engage in intelligent discussion. Most fans aren't watching other teams on a consistent basis. Many of us to watch the entire NFL through green-tinted shades no matter how much we deny it. It's good to get something rational from another fanbase (even we disagree with the opinion). As for his content: he's not a Sanchez fan so that makes him so anti-Jet he doesn't belong on these boards? Then you might as well petition the mods to ban everybody here except for 5-10 posters. There's a crap ton of Jets fans on these boards who aren't believers in Sanchez also.
If we would have had Schaub or Rivers in 2009 or 2010 they would have won at least one game for us in February. Best Defense, Running game and Special teams as well?
No we have enough Jets fans that are anti Sanchez we don't need a Dolphins fan telling us. It would not even be as bad if it was not a rival but I take issue with fans especially from rival teams bashing the team i am a fan of. No he does not need to be banned but he does need to be called out. I can criticize my family but we are fighting if you do, same principle applies.
Schaub had a great defense and strong running game, end result? Smoked by the Patriots. You could argue, the 2010 Jets faced a better Patriots team in the playoffs.
Of course we did they were lighting teams up including us (45-3) I think was the score? But I feel like we could of beat any team that year we should of been in the super bowl that year.. just slacked against the Steelers and only showed face at the end losing by less then a TD
Schaub is a playoff choker - hell he's regular season choker too. I wouldn't touch him at all with this Jets roster.
Thats a whole different conversation and my biggest worry. Sanchez needs to have a shorter memory and put this whole Tebow disaster behind him. I see next season going 2 ways. I like the WCO and with Holmes, Keller and hopefully a pass catching RB I can see Sanchez playing well and much better than last season. I can also see him pressing too much trying to redeem himself for last year but the pressure gets to him and he struggles. A good start to the season would be huge for Mark.
Thats what I'm hoping the plan is. If Sanchez doesn't work out Garrard is the perfect stop gap QB until we can find someone younger to go with.
Any rational PERSON knows when it's time to stop hoping and accept the reality of any situation. And if you want to talk about the 2009 AFCCG, let's do it --- How many points did wonderboy put on the scoreboard that day? You think 17 is going to beat Peyton at home?? Keep dreaming. Oh ... and btw ... you can thank Brad Smith for setting up 7 of them, and the defense for 3. Great job by Sanchez to lead us to one drive for 7 points in the biggest game of the year. EDIT: And for the record, the single biggest reason we lost that game was because Sanchez and the offense went 3 and out after we recovered a fumble inside the 30 yard line and should have put our foot on the Colt's throat. Should have been 21-6 Jets at the half, and getting the ball to start the 3rd Q. Was it really too much to ask, to cover 27 freakin' yards and put up 7 points?? Or AT LEAST burn off the remainder of the 1st half. They did neither.
I understand what you are saying. I understand your argument. But I just don't know if the 2010 sanchez is still in him or not. I mean, I don't know if last season sanchez is the new sanchez or if we give him more weapons will he return to game manager doing enough to win or if he will become elite. The thing with me is that he was sooooo terrible last season, just the sight of him urks me. I mean, I don't even want to recall last season.
Nailed it. This draft seems weak at QB, maybe we take a flyer, if not the next draft is supposed to be a strong QB draft
Mark enjoys Broadway Musicals, Photo shoots, and Hob Nobbing with celebs. Football seems to be distant 4th and it has shown this past year.
I'm not comparing him to any top 5 QB, the logic is that NO QB could be effective throwing to Gates, Schillens, Reuland, Gilyard etc. Which means that Sanchez poor performance is because of those players, so that means that Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, Brees, RG III, Luck, Eli, Romo, Big Ben, Newton, Dalton, Wilson etc would have been ranked in the mid to high 30's?
