as much as i hate dolphins fans and everything about the dolphins beast is actually a pretty good opposing team poster. i would much rather him than a raiderjeaux or one of the other idiots who are around for nothing more than acting a fool.
That " Tebow was a distraction to Sanchez " arguement doesn't hold alot of water. For 3 years we had a backup that was there who never had a chance to get in the game with Sanchez healthy. Mark had a terrible season the year before last. Does he not deserve to compete for his job after a bad season? I think the Rex Ryan coaching philosiphy for this team the last few years have hurt Sanchez. This all defense and no involvment in offensive devolepment has been the death knell for Sanchez. I think he has the tools to compete, but not in this system. I hope after this season, when Ryan is fired we hire a coach that believes in ballance on both sides of the ball. If we can get some tallent for the O side, maybe we can be on the way of fixing this mess. Sticking with everybody we have and letting things play out is madness. You shouldn't wait for the whole house to be on fire to call the fire department. We need change for things to get better, not more of the same. I hope John Idzik knows that
You are right, blaming Tebow is nonsense. First off, if Tebow was that much of a distraction to bring down Sanchez, then Sanchez is too mentally fragile to be a NFL QB. Secondly, Mark's biggest problem was a lack of talent around him on offense. I'm not saying he's a good QB right now, but the reason for his statistical decline likely had to do with not having Holmes and Keller rather than some mystical Tebow aura. The only game he had both Holmes and Keller for was the Buffalo game in week 1.
Sanchez's biggest problem is his mental ineptitude. He has the tools to be successful, but he does not have the football IQ to be a successful. Give us Pennington last year, and we are a better team. Not physical tools, but highly intelligent.
Why do you guys constantly try to compare Sanchez to the top 5 guys. We aren't saying he's a top 5 QB. But he can be a top 10 QB if given the weapons.
Tebow was a big distraction. It was a distraction in the media. It was a distraction in the meeting (both QB meetings and Offensive meetings), it was a distraction on the field in practice and in games. If you don't understand how there was a distraction I was ask you to find some books on the ins and outs of a football season to see what the daily life of a football team, add in a player like Tebow and you'll see that he was a distraction. Regarding this mediocre QB nonsense. Well, actually your comment is nonsense. If Sanchez doesn't inspire confidence then why is Revis and Cromartie saying that Sanchez can get the job done?
Sanchez did not have a terrible season in 2011. He had a bad stretch to end the season where he had the shit kicked out of him.
Tebow being a distraction doesn't mean Sanchez is mentally fragile. I'm not saying he was worried about his job, but when you have to constantly answer questions about Tebow being there, when you have to spend time in meetings going over Tebow packages, when you have to spend valuable practice time working on Tebow packages and when you are coming on and off the field to bring in Tebow, those things are distractions to Sanchez and hte offense. Tebow was a mess and bringing him here was a big mistake that had an effect on the offense and Sanchez. There's no question about it.
He posts like a disgruntled Jets fan I find that weird. As a Dolphins fan does he not want the jets to fail and I do the dolphins? He just seems to be on here to blast Sanchez what is the difference?
He wouldn't have to worry about special packages, if he could get the job done by himself. Also, how did Alex Smith react to the Kaepernick packages?
This is how I've always felt about Sanchez, particularly because he came out early. He's always had the tools, it's just been a question of him developing the brains to use them. In year 1, he definitely showed a lot more heart than head and, in year 2, it seemed like he was starting to put things together. Then came the huge tumble that started in Week 13 of year 3 and has continued since. There's nothing physically wrong with Sanchez, it's just the mental game. Who knows... maybe Morningwhig can fix that? (FWIW, it also makes me very nervous about this franchise's ability to select rookie QBs, even with all the success that the rookies have had in the past two years).
I agree regarding Pennington. Of course Sanchez has his issues, but last year was very bad for him, and he had been trending upwards statistically since he was a rookie. I do think Sanchez can eventually evolve into an average NFL QB if he's got a good team around him and eventually "gets it". He just has to make the right decisions, you are correct when you point to his mental ineptitude. Simple shit like giving up on plays based on game situations, which he talks about doing but never does enough is what he can't get through his head...tucking (or at least protecting) the football when he moves in the pocket, etc.
You are laughable, man. You're not going to watch the video because it goes against what you are saying? No one here should read a single word you say because of the same reason. Keep living in your Sanchize fantasy. Maybe he likes talking football? At least his posts are quality, unlike yours. 95% of the time he's objective which is pretty hard for an opposing divisional fan. No one is comparing him to top 5 guys. No one has to... We could compare him to the 20th ranked passer and Sanchez would still look bad. For arguments sake, what reasons have we been given to believe that Sanchez could ever be a top 10 QB? Even with talent around him... The only way I see that happening is if he's throwing to Calvin and AJ Green. At this point, all anyone really wanted was for Sanchez to instill a little hope- show some sort of confidence and leadership that he can be the guy if put in a good situation (as you say). Last year, he didn't at all. No one was asking him to even be a top 15 QB, all [realistically] we asked for was less turnovers and some signs for the future.
In terms of a mediocre QB, let's take a guy like...Andy Dalton for example. You mean to tell me that he Andy Dalton would have 'buttfumbled' and led us to a 6-10 record including a horrendous performance at Tennessee? He would have gotten 8 or 9 wins with the schedule we had. Sanchez was worse than mediocre. He was worse than bad. He was absolutely terrible. Justifying him starting another game is ridiculous. He doesn't inspire confidence in the fanbase. You honestly expect those two to actually come out in public and say that he's shit?
Are you serious? Andy Dalton on this offense wins 6 games. Give Sanchez AJ Green and legitimate coaching and see how he magically improves. Buttfumble is 1 play that a lot of you seriously need to get over. Its 1 fumble.
My eyes don't lie. The Jet offense last season was the most uninspiring, mediocre minor league tragedy I have ever seen. I left my family for the first thanksgiving, ever, drove 80 miles to witness the clusterfuck live. That night, I wrote Sanchez off. That night he lost my support. Now I don't care if anybody still thinks sanchez is able to cut down on handing the other team the ball to score and to play lights out, that's cool. But I hate him. He is as charismatic as a turnip, he makes the dumbest decisions on the field, and he has no accountability because Rex will play his boy toy no matter who the back up is because there never WAS any competition at the QB spot. Maybe now it will be. And I hope it is because I dont think he has a chance to even beat out any of the QBs except for Tebow. Sanchez supporters are so blind thinking this guy is gonna take us somewhere. At his peak he was just a game manager. Just my opinion of course. I will be glad when sanchez sits his ass down somewhere or is out the door.
Buttfumble is a play in which Sanchez forgot. I really don't understand how a top 5 draft pick can forget a freaking play like that...It's unreal. As for Andy Dalton, he wouldn't had made things worse and forced things (as Sanchez has done several times this season). I keep saying over and over, and will say until my dying breath, that there are at least four games this season (even with the practice squad caliber talent) that we would have won if we even had a competent quarterback. People make excuses for Sanchez talking about lack of talent and coaching, but they fail to realize that Sanchez hasn't exactly made things better in those circumstances. Our defense was good enough to win us games. Our defense kept us in several games (49ers and Seahawks) late into the 3rd quarter until they got worn down due to Sanchez's inability to score and move the chains.
I'm hardly a Sanchez supporter but this is where you and every other woe is me Jets fan are 100% WRONG. Sanchez won't ever take us anywhere? How about the 2 times in his first 2 seasons where he did take us to the playoffs and won 4 games for us. If the D didn't suck in a half of each championship game than we would have played in a Superbowl. Game managers don't lead teams to more 4th quarter and OT comebacks than any other QB in 2010. Sanchez is highly flawed. No one is arguing that. What some of us are saying is that it is in the Jets immediate and future best interest for Sanchez to play well. Its obvious what needs to be done to improve his play. He's here for next season so see if the new coaching and hopefully better weapons can get the best out of Sanchez and he can play more like he did in 2010 and 2011.
There are maybe a handful of QBs in this league that could have made things better around them on this Tony Sporano offense with these weapons. If you seriously think Andy Dalton is bringing this team to the playoffs with Jeremy Kerley as his number 1 and Chaz Schillens as his number 2 than I dont know what to tell you. Sanchez has his weaknesses and the Jets management did all that they could to show them.
