I just linked you to a USA Today article that had UK in, and this is after they just lost 3 out of 6. OK, and that article doesn't agree with your assessment. You said UK was "at best a buble team" before the Noel injury. Here's what the article said:
That's great, some will have them in, some won't. They were listed under bubble team in that article. It said "concerns are STARTING to lessen", also says "This week at Florida and Tennessee provides a nice proving ground for their progress". They go crushed by both teams, one w/ Noel.
Again, they are a bubble team now, after losing Noel and losing 3 out of 6 games, and yes, some have them in. When they had Noel, they were not "at best a buble team" according to anyone but you. I agree that they are a bubble team now. But they weren't one before.
They were a bubble team then too, they are a bubble team now. Previously they were a bubble team likely to make it now they are a bubble team likely to miss.
bubble teams make the tourney- you do know this, right? I didn't say they were out but they were on the bubble, they were not a lock to make the Tourney. They still had work to do.
Yes, I am well aware of what a bubble team is. Where did I say any different? You said "they were a buble team at best w/ Noel." Meaning that maybe they were on the bubble, but you might have them off the bubble entirely. Are you changing your mind now? I'm just asking. Please answer the question.
are you seeing different words than I am posting? wher have I changed anything? W/ or w/ Noel they were/are a bubble team. W/ him they probably make it, w/o him they probably miss it.
No it's not, my point was that I believe w/ or w/o Noel they were going to be a bubble team. They didn't show me any reasons to believe they'd start playing great w/ Noel.
I thought UK was a bubble team with Noel, they had some inconsistent games but because I think this year the bubble is weaker than most years they would have been in at the time and I still think they'll get in. One of my favorite bubble teams is Boise State... personally I think they're in but could play themselves out. They beat Creighton in Omaha when Creighton was a top 15 team and they have beaten UNLV and CSU actually throttled CSU , took New Mexico to OT an played Michigan State and SDSU very tough. The MWC gets a lot of love in the computers and there was a time when the selection commitee would give teams that suffered an injury during the season a break , with Boise losing 2 of their 3 best players for part of the season and still getting to 20 wins is pretty good. They are clearly better with those guys. They play @ UNLV and host SDSU. I think win one of them and a game in the MWC tourney and they are a lock. I know Alford is gonna get it but Leon Rice absolutely should be MWC coach of the year.
Sad state of affairs when Villanova's final game of the year against Georgetown is essentially meaningless.
St. John's scored 14 points in the second half in tonight's loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=330640087 Notre Dame's Cameron Biedscheid and Sir'Dominic Pointer of the Red Storm got in a fight with 1:46 left in the game. Both players were given technicals and ejected and will sit out their next games. Brey and St. John's coach Steve Lavin both said they didn't get a good look at what happened. Lavin said his assistants told him the two started talking while JaKarr Sampson of St. John's was shooting free throws seconds earlier. Lavin said Pointer told him "he just lost his cool." Brey said Biedscheid told him he was defending himself. "He felt it started with the other guy and he defended himself. But under the rule, if you do throw a punch you're ejected," Brey said. Amir Garrett of the Red Storm was ejected for leaving the bench. The Big East said it would review what happened.
Ryan Kelly for Player of the Year! I love that K is playing him 30 mins a game, he'll wear out so fast just like Plumlee and Curry. Looking forward to another early exit in the Tourney.
Boise took it to my Rebels last night in Vegas and only some poor officiating allowed us to steal the W. I seriously do not want to play these guys again. Looks like we'll finish 2nd in the MWC which means we'll probably get a fading Colorado State in the 2nd round. Our 1st round game will likely be with Wyoming who we just destroyed in their building last week. I think providing Boise beats SDSU in Boise on Saturday I think the Broncos will be in. There was a time that the MWC would get two teams in but this year we could get 5 after getting 4 last year. Now it's time for us to get some teams through the 1st weekend. It's all matchups but I could see 2 or 3 teams winning their 1st round game and hopefully New Mexico gets a high seed and moves in to the Sweet 16.
Oh for God's sake, just STOP it! Please: 19 wins and 13 losses in a conference that won't get a single 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament? Four Bad Losses on the resume (Columbia, Seton Hall, Providence TWICE?!?) I realize this team could not have any lower expectations after failing to make post season play of any kind last year, but you have got to stop this insanity. Short of winning this game and making the FINALS of the Big East Tournament, this team should not even be in the discussion come Selection Sunday. I'm starting to sound like junc for crying out loud!
you sound like yourself, soemone who is constantly negative. 'Nova still has a good shot to make it but you always jump ship at the first sign of water.
I'm with you... I don't think they're in. Throw in a loss to Alabama (who is an NIT team) and Temple who is certainly would be a be a bubble team and I'm not sure the wins over Cuse and Louisville are good enough to get them in. If they do get in it'll be those two wins and only those two wins that do it. They can play themselves in but right now I think they're out.
