You heard it here first: Wright will not be able to turn around this team's morale after that devistating loss. This will be 2011 all over again and Villanova will lose it's next four game, falling in the first round of the NIT.
You think that someone who is incapable of implementing a rudimentary perimiter defense is doing a "great" job?
Good article on SJU's Orlando Sanchez. The guy is getting shafted by the NCAA. We would be an easy Tourney team is he was playing. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...ars-plea-lets-play-st-john-college-basketball
Good read MParty. I remember we were talking this earlier in the year, i.e. about how the NCAA had no problem doing an about face in the Shabezz Muhammad/UCLA case but have had Sanchez twisting in the wind in the face of common sense. There's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law and the NCAA has spit the bit on this one big time according to Jay Bilas and many others in the know. Oh, and as you probably recall, the only reason the NCAA was so quick to rectify the situation in the UCLA case was because of people affiliated with their legal team opening their big, stupid mouths outside the court and in doing so prejudicing the case which Muhammad's attorneys immediately jumped all over. Yeah, they were posted before 4:00. Again just wanted to tweak the nyjuncster...and his out-of-town bandwagon jumping...(wink)
SU is going nowhere this year. The team has the players but can't seem to figure out how to put it together now that defenses have tightend up. MCW should stay in college at least another year, he won't but it is a mistake because he is just not ready and will be eaten up in the NBA.
^ this team can't shoot for shit or expand the zone to cover good shooting teams. I doubt Cuse gets past 32 teams but everyone is losing this year, so who knows I bet a mid major wins it all this year.
This should make Hackett smile: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/co...tball-power-rankings/?sct=hp_t13_a2&eref=sihp
This is a dark day for college basketball. They should simply disband all the conferences since strength of schedule means nothing anymore.
Haha... while I don't think they're even close to the best team in the country it's quite funny to think that barring something unforseen they'll be #1 in the country and might not lose until the NCAA Tournament
what an ending to Colorado/Stanford Colorado went on a run in the second half (they trailed most of game). Leading by 4, a dumbass Colorado player knocks the ball away from official who was trying to get it to stanford to inbound. Stanford though splits the pair of technical free throws, really hurt missing one. Stanford down 65-63 with like 3 seconds left Dwight Powell gets to rim for a driving big dunk to seemingly tie the game and force OT, but the clock hit 0.0 while he was in the air for the soaring dunk. Actual dunk came like 2 tenths of a second too late. What an athlete, though.
just saw this: http://twitdoc.com/upload/theuwdawgpack/dawg-pack-dirt-oregon.pdf Someone at UW sends out dirt sheets for fans to reference when heckling opposing players. That's an example of one
they're saying on ESPN that Ryan Kelly is ready to return and could have played tonight if need be he dressed for the game I'm blindsided, I hadn't heard anything about this.
they're back to not figuring out the bonus though. Duke shown as not in bonus, Plumlee bumped at other end of court on a defensive rebound, he goes to the line and shoots FTs
They got it for that St. John's game last week. Well actually, it took them about two minutes after the 6th foul occurred to put them in the bonus, but they did it before the 7th! I guess it's just based on the guy running the scoreboard.
