Hey man i know your as big a fan as anyone, i just think your critiques are misdirected.

There's a mere handful of guys on this team playing average or relatively well right now, in my opinion that's McD, Staal, Hags, Callahan & Nash (when in)..Hank is not on this list only because he's playing like a slightly above avg goalie, not a vezina winner, which is what they need him to be.

The rest of them take turns fucking up ( and some do it at the same time). We all know who they are.

torts can't bench the whole team.

I like Torts, but he is too inflexible with his system, it's obvious we have no offense, we have to open the game up more to create chances...

Yeah dude, for real...no animosity Hackett - I'm here everyday like you are, obviously we're all big time fans. And yes, Sullivan should be getting worried.

Im still trying to figure out what Hackett is talking about when he said the Blues got Zubov and Keenan and we got Nedved?

I dont recall Zubov ever playing for the Blues. I recall the Rangers having both Nedved AND Zubov at the same time. I also recall the Rangers trading Zubov AND Nedved for two old ass clowns from Pittsburgh. What am I missing Hackett?

Zubov on August 31, 1995, was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins with Petr Nedvěd for Ulf Samuelsson and Luc Robitaille

    I respectfully disagree

last year, the system + guys playing well + Hank playing great = conf Championship series

this year, The system + Guys playing shitty, + Hank playing ok = a .500 record

Their best games this year have been the few instances where they duplicated what they did best last year......win pucks, cycle, smart/decisive defensive pinching and a lot of shots. I don't think this team has the personnel to run and gun...... they get lured into that by the Penguins which is one reason we can never beat them.

I can agree with this. HOwever, to MR's point, the system is the same but our players are not. Dubinsky, AA, Rupp, Mitchell etc---all gone---they fit the system. The Nash, Miller, Pyatt et al additions are different players.

Soooooooooooo, are we playing the wrong system now? Did we acquire the wrong players? Should we change the system a bit to fit the talent better?

    All legit questions.

    Imagine how I feel.

Bottom line...still too early to panic guy. Call me in May. Just get in the playoffs.

yes you guys do have a point. I still think it's getting the guys from last year getting to play to the level they were playing to last year...and get the new guys in the mix. I think Pyatt fits their system nicely and is playing pretty well.

I don't think they have the fire power to open it up. I do miss Mitchell and Prust of that group the most.

Ultimately, I agree. We're simply not playing with the intensity we played with last year. But I dont really mind. Because I think we're gonna turn in on in time for a playoff run. We were dead on our feet against the
Devils last year. Id like to be more fresh this year. You can stick the 1 seed up your ass

I'm sorry, I got my history mixed up. I thought the Rangers sent Zubov to the Blues as part of the compensation deal to get Nedved when Keenan skipped town.

Agreed there........they were done by the Washington series last year but somehow got through it. hope your right with the turn around, i'd like to think at least teams like the Leafs,Sens and even the Canadiens will fade........you know the Pens, Bruins, Devs are locks, the rest are a toss up I suppose.

Staal is playing as well as you can possible ask a defenseman to play.

I think all three will stick around this year, assuming the Sens don't lose any more key players to injury. Leafs look a bit different with Carlyle in charge, and you know only too well how resilient the Senators are under MacLean. Could maybe see the Habs falling apart shortly.

    what's Anderson's prognosis?

don't get me wrong, i know the Sens are missing a lot of pieces, but they weren't too impressive last night...they had their moments but not too many.

I don't buy the Leafs either, they might be different but still feel like they get overwhelmed by pressure. i was definitely not impressed by the Habs lately either although they beat my team in the icing game, so i don't know what hat says about the Rangers

Im not sure the Sens or Leafs will make the playoffs. They might. But Im positive teh Rangers will have more pts then both. Probably more than the Habs as well.

i see the Rangers finishing 5th. Im fine with that
