It is rumored that the Dolphins are going after Mike Wallace or possibly Greg Jennings. It is also rumored that the Patriots might trade for Harvin.

Which WR do you not want to see in the AFC East. You don't have to stick with the 3 mentioned above. You can mention any that is available or rumored to be available in a trade.

The worst for me would be Harvin in NE.
Mike Wallace in Miami would be second.

Obviously neither would be great, but I would rather MIA get a receiver than NE getting Harvin. NE adding another weapon would be even more frustrating when we play them. Miami would kind of play into our hands as we just throw Revis on them.

Agreed. If we still have Revis.

Unless they're in New England, of course:

    1) Harvin
    2) Wallace
    3) Bowe
    4) Jennings
    5) Pretty much anyone else and any marquee guys I'm not thinking of

Biggest nightmare scenario for us, though, is that the Patriots let Welker walk and he signs with the Bills, Jets, or Dolphins. And ends up burning them twice a year for the next two or three years or whatever he gets.

assuming we have Revis & Cro(which may not be a good assumption) it doesn't matter.

With our cap situation it will not be the Jets. I doubt Welker would set his foot in the door with what we have to offer.

Would he go back to Miami? If the money is there sure, we all know the tax situation is much better, not to mention the weather. Buffalo? I don't see it. Wes wants to win and the Bills QB issues continue to be thier undoing. Besides I don't see the Bill offering up waht he will want. I think the best situation is to work out a deal in NE for him.

Ha, I see what you did there.

I think he'd go back to Miami, of all the possible AFCE teams. The Bills' QB situation is not good and as you said I don't think NY is an option.

If he does go my guess is that he ends up with a contending team that will pay him a little more than he's probably worth. Maybe Denver? I honestly don't know each team's cap situation.

Welker is definitely best suited to be in NE. I think all sides agree on that, but ultimately money is the bottom line.

I could see him going to Denver. Like you said, not sure of their cap but the best way to stick it to NE would be Denver or BAL. Normally it would be going to an AFC east team but I don't see an East team really competing with NE this year

We save like $1 mil for cutting him. Who do we get for $1 mil that would produce at the level that he can produce? Assuming he comes back to shape that it.

Agreed, I'm not sure if he'd be much of a difference-maker for anyone else in the AFCE anyway.

I'll be interested to see what he gets if he leaves. My guess is that he's going to regret turning down what they offered him last offseason (something like $24M over 3 years, not sure how much was guaranteed). Teams are feeling the cap a lot more at this point and apparently next year it's more or less going to stay flat again.

The hardest part about this whole situation is determining a fair, "real" value on Welker. Would he have had four 100+ catch seasons playing in a different offense, without Tom Brady? Probably not. His production doesn't necessarily belie his value to other teams, since he's unlikely to duplicate it anywhere else.

Welker is a good WR but vastly overrated playing in NE w/ the best QB in football and on teams where he has never been the primary option.

How mad are you going to be when he makes the HOF?

I don't want to see Cordarrelle Patterson in the division, first and foremost. That guy looks big, explosive, and in the mold of a Julio Jones type. Sure Wallace or Jennings will have their games, but Jennings will be 29 this year. Patterson will be around for a while.

He's not making the HOF, have you seen how much better WRs haven't been able to make it? He's got no chance.

Depends on where he ends up. If he goes to NO, GB, DEN, you could see him repeating what he does for NE for those teams. Maybe not on the same page immediately as he has with Brady, but the QBs on those teams would love him. You could cycles receivers between all those 4 teams and the QBs on them would make all of them look better than they are if they played on the other 28 teams

I was thinking NO would be a great place for Welker as well. Any QB with great accuracy would be a good fit.

Agreed and he needs better stats still to even get consideration (not sure how much longer he will play). A ring would help his cause like anyone else.

And it is fitting that his drop against the Giants likely cost him a ring
