we will have agree to disagree on that. Mark misses throws no question but he also makes some spectacular throws. Don't get me wrong Mark has a lot to work on and WCO just might be his salvation. He is a streaky passer the WCO gets a QB into a Rhythm.

Mark in my mind gets another chance. With that being said the excuses are over he has a proven coordinator and hopefully a healthy receiving core and an OK line. He needs to produce.

This is a point that I have yet to see mentioned. Sanchez indeed is very streaky. His completions and incompletions tend to come in bunches. This is why I always felt with him it was important to script some easy completions early in the game plan. None of the prior coordinators seemed to follow this strategy with any real consistency.

Yes Shotty always tried, but somehow Mark always managed to go 3-and-out with a few missed short screenes, dropped short passes and a 1 yrd rush involved.

Mark's inaccuracy makes him likely to sooner or later throw a pick, despite being in rythm.

That being said, he should start in 2013.

I'm down with trading a 3rd rounder for Foles. Especially if Revis gets traded for a 1st and a 3rd.

    GO GET EM

Is really trading for a QB the best way for us to go into S-2013? Sanchez for the majority of us is not the answer, the draft is lacking (apparently) in any real NFL standard talent, so why not just 'band-aid' the QB position by picking up a FA? .......Not sure with our massive cap issues that this is a possibility though.

    I found this FA list....
    (sorry for the shitty format)

Is there anyone here who we could realistically land that will challenge Sanchez?

Pretty shitty options there, I wouldn't want to make any trades either, but Foles I think has the most upside out of any of them. I would take a Jason Campbell though. I just don't see Matt Moore winning a starting position. The anybody but Sanchez argument is stupid as hell - people are blind and think oh it can't get much worse.

    Well it can.

When you have the worst offense in the NFL, it can't get too much worse.

I guess we could go from 3 turnovers a game to 4, but we'd still be the worst either way.

We were without Holmes for the majority of the season. There are worse QBs out there this offense needs a flux of talent the entire offense is the issue besides Brick and Mangold

Yes its an absurd staement to make with the current options we have.

Its looking like Foles is off the radar as it looks like the Eagles will retain him.

This is why I'm really not that bothered who's under center for next season. Come 2014 this is when we get our next QB(s) from.
In the meantime lets rebuild that O line and get some weapons. I would love us to go with a Guard in round 1, Chance Warmack or Jonathan Cooper would be nice.

We definitely need offensive upgrades at a number of postions. Most of the draft should be focused on offense.
The most glaring need remains QB though. Sanchez would already be cut if it weren't for the guaranteed money. He's not part of the future plans.

So the Jets need to either bite the bullet and take a chance on a QB draft pick....or at very least pick up one of these FA's (or trade) to realistically compete with Sanchez in 2013 while we look to draft a QB in 2014.

You definitely need someone to fill in for Sanchez because no way you can give Sanchez a long leash after last year. If he improves, great, it finally happened and makes the rebuilding process of our team a little bit easier. If he doesn't improve, we have someone to fill in instead of watching him get worse and worse as the year goes on (like last year)

I'd take it a step further and say no leash at all.
If he sees the field, it has to be due to playing his way out of a backup spot.
Then once there, very very short leash. There is no need to coddle a guy no longer in the teams future plans.

Sanchez is going to get some competition. And I'm willing to bet that Sanchez will not (and should not) be the starter on opening day.

I would personally like to bring in Nick Foles and then bring in a rookie to compete.

Yeah I might have jumped the gun, but I think he beats out whoever we bring in, but about 3-4 games in he gets pulled. Hopefully I'm wrong and one of the below happens.

    a) the veteran we bring in lights it up in camp/season and we found a go between until we draft another QB
    b) the new kid we draft goes off in camp/season and we never look back
    c) Sanchez gets it and we don't need the veteran to step in or the new kid gets a good year on the bench.

Definitely on the same page there, I agree 100%. Draft a feature back in the 2nd round. Rex Ryan does not need all these first rounders on defense. We need to rebuild the offense. 2 straight first rounders on defense. People need to realize we won't be fielding a 2000 Baltimore Ravens defense, we have neglected the offense for far too long.

I wish Stanton never left. I say draft a QB, drop Tebow, pick up a vet, pit all 3 against each other, let the best man win.
