:lol:right. probably because he hasn't as many picks, fumbles, and incompletons. to say nothing about being immortalized forever with the ' buttfumble'. :shit:
Stop the madness please! Tebow won more meaningful games than Sanchez did in 2011. Is he a better QB? Go back and look at what Sanchez did in those 4 games and look at what Moore dealt with in Carolina and Miami. Sanchez was along for the ride with a few occasions of big plays. We have had more crap play out of Sanchez than good. I don't think Moore is a franchise QB but at this point in both of their careers, I would take Moore over Sanchez.
I wonder if people actually watch football sometimes. If Moore was our QB and sanchez on another team we'd want Sanchez and would hate Moore.
no. we would have made the playoffs the last two years, even with the other problems like hunter and sporano. even better if suckchise was taking another afc team, like denver, out of playoff contention. :shit:
I'm not a fan of Sanchez but he is much better than Moore who is much better than Tebow. Sanchez is the only one of those 3 that has any shot at being an NFL starting QB of any signifigance. Sucking is still relative.
yeah we would have won SBs in '09 and '10 w/ another QB too, guys like Rivers, Peyton, Romo, Schaub, Ryan- all guys who w/ MUCH more talent fail in postseason year after year after year but our team was so amazing we carried a bad QB to 4 road playoff wins. Simply amazing.
So you DON'T take into account that he was put on the team in August, and you still expect him to perform as if he were the long-time starter, got full team reps, and should be up to speed on the day he was signed...GOTCHA. Thanks for making that clear to me. I saw ALL of the games and followed the story since its inception. You are looking at the stats...admit it. Anyway, get it straight what "meaningful games" means. Earlier, you were trying to say that weeks one and two were meaningful, since the team was "still in the hunt." I wonder if you know the difference between fact and opinion.
I'm not sure I get the facination with Matt Moore. Sure, he's done okay but when he was given a chance to take a starting job in Carolina he bombed. We can definitely get better than Matt Moore.
Much better based on what? The 4 playoff wins where Sanchez threw for under 200 yards in each win? Moore hasn't had the luxury of being an unchallenged starter on a team that played great defense and had a very solid running game. Moore has played for bad teams his whole career and still put up respectable numbers. He has a better completion percentage, and a much better TD to Int ratio. I'm not saying Moore is a franchise guy. I just think he is a good option for our situation. I'm tired of giving away games becasue of our QB. We are stuck with Mark for another year, and I hope he can magically turn into a decent QB. But if Mark is still Mark, I want a competent backup QB to be able to take his place. Moore can be that guy. He bombed on an awful team. He got a concussion week 1 that year and played in 4 games on a team that went 2-14. Who is out there that we can afford that is better?
I don't think many QBs outside of the elite ones would have succeeded in Carolina. Then he went to Miami which was far from a good situation as well. I think he could play very well on a team with stability/a decent surrounding cast and given time to learn the offense. Don't get me wrong I don't think he is a guy you build around but he could fight for a WC spot given a shot.
Yes, having the respect of your teammates is very important at the QB position, as is protecting the football. Fundamental actually. Moore clearly has both in his favor over Sanchez. Bring him in and let him compete. If Sanchez elevates his play tremendously from last year, maybe he wins out. If not, we have a stop gap. Unless we are drafting someone, this is the necessary low risk type move which will improve the quality of QB play whomever earns the start.
I'm beginning to think Moore is gonna be too expensive for the Jets. He turned FA at the perfect time. So many QB desperate teams and this draft is questionable when it comes to QB prospects. As for KC: There's been rumours of KC trading mid-rounder with Eagles for Foles. Not sure how serious these rumours are though. Andy Reid should have a good grasp of where Foles development is as QB.
I believe it has been the plan all along to have Sanchez start this year. Too much money and time invested in him. I really believe Rex will go with him no matter what. Morningwood will have his work cut out over the next 6months.
I hope Sanchez stays until the end of 2014-2015 season. If Jets drafted well in 2013 and 2014, the defense should have been fixed, and QB apparent should have been sitting on the bench, learning how not to play QB in this league - along with a few other draftees on offensive side of the ball. After 2015, either Nacho can come back at vet min, or he can take a highway. Or, on the condition that his salary becomes guaranteed till the end of 2014 season, he can take a massive pay cut. (I hope he is dumb enough to agree to this - hell, he looked dumb enough when he was chucking INTs all season long, no?)
Considering the guy has a tattoo of him on his arm, you could be right. Rex seems to have an issue with being too loyal to "His" guys. If Rex once again chooses to go with Sanchez no matter what, he will be going down with the ship. You might be right. I wouldn't think he would be getting anything close to starting money, but considering how much Flynn got and how many teams need help at the QB position, he could be getting a lot more than the 2.5 million a year he earned on his last contract.
Guys career completion percentage is under 60pct. He's never been able to establish himself as a starter, and it's been rumored that the drafting of Jimmy Clausen broke him in Carolina. Yeah, he'd be great in NY
Moore, Flynn....someone else's hot garbage. It's the equivalent of the way Fans love the backup QB. Until he to do more than spot duty. The grass is always greener on the other side of the septic tank.
So what? Alex Smith had to run a new system and be reprogrammed w/ no offseason in 2011. It's not like he was a 10 year vet in 1 system and thrust into starting week 1. He had all of TC and the first month of the season to get acclimated. It's interesting that is the excuse, so he got there in August so he couldn't succeed in early october but he could in late october. Those few weeks really made the difference and I guess it's why he couldn't beat out a raw rookie w/ a full offseason the next year? Next excuse please. Stats mean little to me, wins and losses mean everything. Was he doing all he could when they were losing? he gave us a game w/ a 100 yd INT return and playing awful all night long. The one game you lost early that year where he played reasonably well was at NYG but after a great 1st half he was awful in the 2nd half so overall he didn't have a good game. That respect led to 6 wins, on all teams they select MVPs no matter how bad they are. We had an MVP in our 1-15 season, it doesn't mean much when you are that bad. It's amazing, fans want meaningless MVPs from 6-10 seasons rather than a chance to play for the right to go to the SB. I am fine bringing Matt Moore in, I know Sanchez would beat him out so he is perfect and he can be a quality backup but if you think we can win w/ Matt Moore you are mistaken. staryting the season is meaningful, you are 0-0 and have the same chance every other team has, it's very different than coming in when the team is 4-7 or 0-7.
