Habs have PK Subban, who ask Hank, shoots like Kovalchuk, creating rebounds, and I don't know what you're talking about, and I'm sure you don't either, but Nash has a great wrist shot...
Steve Zipay @stevezipay Lots possible RT @jonzdatny: @stevezipay Possible Nash re-injured groin he hurt in Europe? Can't see how he played w/inkling of head injury He was almost scratched Sunday but skated in warmups, then was scratched Tuesday, I think Zipay's right...groin injury...
Youre in love with that Subban, man. You dont need a guy with a huge shot if u get it on net. Again, we're playing off the pass instead of playing of the shot. Not sure why we havent changed that Nash has a good wrist shot but a wrist shot is difficult to keep low and on goal from the point . Im not sure if you knew that or not. And again, Nash is far more useful down low on the PP than on the point. You might have noticed, hes kinda big and has really quick hands.
point taken, but I still put it on the players. this is a group with no confidence, and that = no creativity, and of course no heavy point shots....and like i said before no one ever in front of the net!! I'm sure they've been told that, if we can see it so can the coaches. Hackett, I'll concede personnel chages on the pp migh be in order, but I'll be damned if i know who should be out there that Torts hasn't trotted out already that would change things dramatically. He should get Richards out of there for a while until he gets his head out of his ass....but this is one of the reason we brought the guy in, to be a playmaker. Letting him sit on the bench during the pp versus hoping he'll find his game is not as easy a call as people make it out to be, especially with limited options. Nash out again tomorrow.
Did you ever play and if so did you play w/o a helmet? Why can't you shoot a wrist shot low? Do you have a concussion?
Torts wisdom: New York Rangers @NYRangers Torts on Nash: "everyone has injuries, so you just have to play...Nash is a big part of our team, but he's out"
Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord #NYR announce Rick Nash is not traveling with the team to Ottawa. Team says Nash may join teammates in Montreal.
That's a little alarming that Nash isn't even traveling up for the first of the 2 games north of the border. They said it a few times on the broadcast last night about how Montreal plays at home. If the Rangers have anywhere near the effort of last night on a Saturday night, in the Bell Centre, where the Canadiens play really well they'll get embarrassed.
I played until I was 31 when I blew my knee half way out of my ass. It is DIFFICULT to consistantly fire wrist shots with something on them, low on the ice to create rebounds. The fact that youre arguing this is a bit embarrassing for you. Similar to your Biron stance last week that you quickly backed away from. You should do the same with this argument. Further, when you have a guy as big as Nash with a great wrist shot, you put him in the high slot or at either circle. Thats where teh wrist shot will be deadly. This is hockey 101. I like you and enjoy your posts but for some reason you have been questioning my hockey knowledge of late. And its a bit perplexing. I will happily throw this out to the group and let them decide where Nash would be more effective. Ill also entertain the groups contributions regarding guys who blast wrist shots from teh point on the PP on a consistent basis.
Case and point the game they made mention of last night. Going up 5-0 and blowing it. Can't believe that was 5 years ago already. I remember I kept checking my phone from the floor of the Garden for the Foo Fighters show and seeing 5-1, 5-3, 5-4...Unreal
You're right with this. Wrist shot from the point is number one: A long way out to expect a high velocity shot that stays a foot off the ice and lands on net. Number two: You lose the element of not wanting to get hit with a shot that someone is winding up on. Ryan Callahan aside, most guys aren't readily willing to dive in front of a slapshot every time. How many times do we see Girardi or Stralman wrist a shot that gets blocked on the way in. Nobody is afraid of getting hit with a wrist shot - professional or otherwise.
