Have you wwatched some of Foles throws?? He looks like he struggles to get power and a good spiral on the ball. He isn't horrible per say but he isnt the answer either. I think Sanchez throws a better ball then him
He was a rookie throwing 40 times per game behind the worst O line in the league. God forbid he over/under threw a couple deep passes because he didn't get his body positioned right. Andy Reid's on record as saying Foles has one of the stronger arms in the league. The guy consistently made nice passes hitting receivers in stride. He's being underrated right now just like Russel Wilson was for most (almost all) of the season because he was a 3rd rnd pick. You can have the turnover machine, I'll go with the guy that completed 60.8% despite the trainwreck of a team that was around him and an O line that was almost getting him killed half the time.
A guy like Foles is worth a shot. Sanchez will be tradable/releasable after next season and, at worst, Foles would be a good back up.
You prefer Sanchez, right? Imo, Sanchez Fans have very shaky cred when they criticize McElroy, who after all won the Cards game that Sanchez had nearly placed beyond the range of possibility to win. A word about Foles. I get teh points about him maybe not being a good fit in the read option O, but the Eagles signed Vick to a revised contract, and no way they will count on Vick to last a whole season without need of a solid backup. Unless the Eagles find someone else, no way they are letting Foles go, read option or not.
Easier said than done, but even accepting your point, until and unless they get such a Qb, Foles is going nowhere.
What about Matt Cassel if he gets waived? I don't think anyone thinks he's the long-term answer, but he could at least man the helm while the team moves on from Sanchez and looks at drafting a QB.
Dennis Dixon signed with the Eagles. If he shows any type of pulse and plays well in practice, Foles would be on his way out
I think it's a joke dude... That said it seems like Alex Smith or Matt Flynn don't really have a big market... that could be interesting for us, especially Flynn.
Who'd be there at #9 worth taking (and worth spending a high 1st round pick on)? I'd much rather see us put together the best and talented team we can, except at QB. Because trying to fix that issue this year, only means it will cost us something - for another non-quality solution. Just let McElroy and Buttfumble duke it out, if that means we'll get another year of abysmal QB play - so be it. Sadly, I just don't think this is how Woody sees it.
Fuck the Jets if they take a QB with the 9th pick. Nothing would piss me off more Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Which obviously is more than Sanchez could muster in that game, in the same surrounding, in one third amount of time. At least McElroy still is a big question mark of what he might become. Sanchez really, really isn't.
The offense was so inept last season we really can't judge either QB. Sanchez got the ball out quick and threw picks Mcelroy took sacks.
Flynn has 141 pass attempts, 9 tds5 ints. Yeah, that's the answer. And his completion percentage is marginally better than Nach, playing in better offenses.
