Kyle Orton is 9-20 in his last 29 starts. Anybody who thinks he's going to come in here and be the answer for the Jets is fantasizing. He, like Sanchez, needs a really good situation to prosper and the Jets aren't offering that next season.
This. It also isn't fair that when somebody points out Sanchez, a player, had a big chunk of blame in a loss, to turn around and blame the defense, an entire group, for a bigger share of the blame. For instance in that Giants game, you can't just point to "the defense" as a blanket statement when it was Antonio Cromartie mostly to blame and then Eric Smith just being his slow self. The reason these people say "the defense" is because it would make them look silly to put the importance of a QBs poor play for an entire game on par with one player on the entire defense screwing up on one play. You can't make the comparison of one player to an entire unit, that is just silly. But you also can't compare the importance of one player on the D to the play of the guy on offense who touches the ball every time. QBs get the most share of the blame. If you don't like it, don't draft one at #5. It would be the same as saying "well we can't fully blame Kyle Wilson for giving up the game winning TD because after that the offense failed" if one lineman completely missed his block and it resulted in a strip sack to end the game.
Yes, exactly. Like when Sanchez missed that tackle on Tebow in the closing moments to blow the Denver game.....
All QBs need a good situation to prosper and thrive, wherever it be the coaching staff or personnel. I haven't seen a QB come in and light it up with crappy coaching and crappy weapons.
yeah and it was too bad because he had played such a great game on offense that he put the team in a position where they didnt have to worry about one play beating them. he was awesome that game... well except for that missed tackle of course.
Wow. Simply amazing. Did you even watch that game? Sanchez was absolutely horrendous in that game. For one thing, he threw a preposterous, game-changing pick-6 in the second half that totally altered the complexion of the game. In that game, our defense gave up TEN points (Again, 7 of Denver's 17 points were scored on Sanchez's epic pick-6). Tim Tebow was 9/20 for 104 yards and had 8 carries for 64 yards.
Yeah, great point. What a shame because Sanchez played like a fucking All-Star that game. He put up a pile of points ... you can make a pile with 13 points, right?? ... and hell ... he faced 14 third downs and converted all but eleven of them! What more could you ask for from your franchise quarterback? Goddamn DEFENSE!!! Why can't you do your job??? How dare ypu give up seven points all game ...SEVEN!!!! Why can't you play more like Sanchez??? He only gave up seven points by himslef, And the punter only gave up three!! What a piss-poor game. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. :breakdance:
No, exactly the opposite of the point. One player that touches the ball on every offensive snap, taking up a giant chunk of salary cap space, Sanchez, played like shit for the entire game. Only a dunce would hold him to the same standard as Eric Smith screwing up one play.
I laugh at the fact that you completely leave out his last two year- the most recent ones that actually show his regression. What about him being losing 13 of his last 19? or going 14-18 in the last 2 years? Sanchez was extremely far from being one of the most promising young QBs to come out. Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Cam Newton, Russel Wilson, RG3, Luck, Dalton Kaepernick, Big Ben all were/are more promising than Sanchez was. We dont know what we have? Really? He's entering his 5th year as a starting QB in the NFL and you are fucking saying we dont know what we have in him??? You have to be kidding me. Thats probably the dumbest thing posted on here in a while. You chalk EVERYTHING up to coaching. Its pretty laughable. Have you ever hear of the phrase "damaged goods"? Well thats Sanchez. We know what we have- a bottom tier QB that has regressed in every aspect that was poorly developed by a mismanaged organization and coaching staff. A coach isnt going to change him into a franchise QB. I can guarantee that. Im not sure how you can bring up Rodgers in this situation unless you are comparing polar opposites on the field. Rodgers sat on the bench for 3 years while Sanchez started... nothing to compare there. Of course GB didnt know what they had in him entering his 4th year because he didnt start for them unlike Sanchez for us. We know what we have in Sanchez and its garbage.
Kyle Orton??? And you call me delusional? Put down the crack pipe. There are probably 10 guys that could come in and challenge Sanchez, but, like Matt Flynn, he ain't one of them.
Please say you mean 10 guys that potentially could become available and come to the team in 2013, not 10 guys in the league.
You Sanchez fan boys never cease to amaze me. You realize that the defense stopped Denver on 4th down on Denver's first drive when they were in field goal range which took at least 3 points off the board right? You do realize that the defense held Denver's offense to 10 points right? You do realize that the Broncos won by 4 points and Sanchez gave them 7 point by himself right? You do realize that that prior to Denver's game winning drive that the defense gave the ball to Sanchez in Bronco territory with a 3 point lead and 7 minutes left and Sanchez went 3 and out giving the ball right back to Denver. Clearly it was the fault of the defense.
I Still think we could win with Sanchez under the right set of circumstances, Remeber when Giant fans where getting ready to Axe Eli and they went on to win the Superbowl the next year, I still think Sanchez has a chance in this new west coast offense, It seems like a good fit for him if he stays the starter. Sanchez could only do so much with the talent our shitty GM put around him. I think Marty Morninwig is a perfect match for Sanchez i really do.Its not like Sanchez cant make big throws because he can, Sparano was worse then people realize and Sanchez is taking to much blame i think now looking back on the season as a whole. He was improving every year under Shotty then Sparano came in and he fell apart so whos fault was it really????
Every single fucking thread turns into 40 pages of the same argument about Sanchez. You guys have ruined this forum.
If Sanchez didn't throw TD pass to the other team that day, that whole Tebow histrionic wouldn't even be possible. Jesus Christ. Until then, the defense gave up 3 points. Repeat. THREE. After the TD pass, Sanchez gave up 7 - and also made it possible to mount a comeback at the last minute. At the score 13-3, Tebow can't save it even if his GOD was behind him. Ok? Just what's with these Sanchez fanboys? Have they lost the ability to think?
Kyle Orton could help and keep us at the 6-10 to 9-7 range I think. Just a quick glance, in his last 21 games started he has thrown more INTs than TDs in 3 games. Sanchez has done this 9 times in his last 21 games. There was more to that game. The offense performed underneath their ppg average and the defense better than their average. In addition to the offense underperforming to their ppg through the season, they gave the other team 7! Sanchez/offense had as much to with the loss as the D. The D messed up one drive, the offense messed up multiple drives. A few positives to think is the OC turned Vick into a better, accurate passer, so maybe the same with Sanchez? Sanchez also ran the WCO in college but college is now 5 years ago so not sure how relevant it is.
I agree with this. Its pretty sad. I stick to the draft forum because of shit like this. Any thread that has the word Sanchez in it is bound to have 300 posts from Hobbes and Junc over the same bullshit. Sadly, I feel like posters like that can ruining a forum like this(as you stated). Why must everything go straight back to Sanchez? There are 52 other players, a whole coaching staff and front office to talk about. At this point the horse is obliterated into a pulp... its way past beating a dead horse.
