There's also a tidbit about trading back in the 1st.

According to DraftInsider.net's Tony Pauline, the Chiefs, Eagles and Jets all "think highly" of Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib.

Per Pauline, it's "not out of the question" one of the three trades back into the "late part" of the first round to land the Orange signal caller. The Bills and new coach Doug Marrone are also believed to be keen on Marrone's college quarterback. The QB picture remains murky, but Nassib's chances of going on day one are beginning to look better than 50-50. Feb 8 - 12:38 AM

If Idzik trades back into the first to get him, or even get him in the second than we might as well start looking for a new GM. I'm not saying that Nassib isn't a good QB or wont be a good QB in the NFL, but, this team can't spend picks trading back into the first. Even if he's there on the second.. I don't believe that this team has the talent to have him succeed. Unless he's going to sit for a year, i think that it would be a waste of a pick.

Get some talent this year.. its there at RB and WR.. let our own young WRs develop and then take a QB next year. Bring in a new QB with enough talent to succeed.

That's very risky. I do like Nassib and watched him plenty over the last 3 years. He's a tough kid who had to deal with a patchwork offensive line and took plenty of big hits and came back strong.

Yet as a 1st rounder, he's a big gamble. I could see using a 3rd rounder on him but nothing higher. I'd rather address many other needs higher in the draft and wait until next year to get a higher reward QB(johnny football/bridgewater) than gamble a valuable 1st rounder on him.

I hope it doesn't happen... we have needs that could be easily addressed in rd 2 like a very good OG, TE, RB or S. First let's build a solid foundation...

Also because if this year we fail I think Rex will get canned and the new HC would want to handpick his new starting QB. So it would end up being a waste of a 2nd rd pick.

if revis is traded,i would expect the draft picks he nets will turn into a qb.so in that scenario i could see nassib becoming a 1st round pick for us if they do like him

Chances are, we will trade back, and pick up extra picks.

I agree, hopefully this is the only way. I enjoyed the idea of getting Warmack and running back with our first 2 picks. If Nassib comes through via trade so be it

Trading down and taking a QB is not out of the realm of reason. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers came out of drafts that were considered QB-poor with no obvious choices. Alex Smith was the guy taken on the 1 in Rodger's draft and most people considered that choice a coin-flip at the time. The next guy went mid-20's.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

More on topic, I agree with the poster who suggested a 3rd at best. Our team still has two huge, huge holes to fill -- namely between Mangold and each of the tackles. It would make sense to pick up guards in a draft with really solid guard prospects before reaching at QB.

Hopefully they do.. but even if we do, I rather pick up a Guard, WR, and RB with those picks if we trade back. There are so many receivers and RBs and even Safety's that QB would be one of the positions that I look at the least, unless someone falls gradually. This draft is perfect for us to stock up on picks in the late first and second.

I would take Gio with our second before Nassib.. I wouldn't mind Geno at 9 though.

Nothing good/bad with liking Nassib. The more important question is what round are they willing to reach for Nassib. If they want him so bad they'll spend a 1st or 2nd rounder I'd be pretty disappointed. Now if they've decided that they'll grab him if he's there in 3rd or later then it would be something much easier to accept.

Hopefully this is a smokescreen to see if Buffalo twitch and take him at 8.

I think the Jets would absolutely take Geno at the 9. Most fans probably don't want that, though, but I think Geno is a great pick at 9 - he's a reach at first overall, but I think his numbers make him a top 10 pick.

Yeah I would gladly take him at 9. I don't watch college football, but his numbers are impressive. Plus I hear that he's accurate and calm. Probably my dream pick of this draft or a healthy Jarvis Jones.

I could see it now, Jets take Geno Smith 9th then Gio Bernard in the 2nd. I would be really excited for next season.

i mean lets seriously look at this. at the senior bowl reports were "we talked a lot about mike glennon." i'm sure we like a lot of players in this draft, that doesn't mean we'll draft them (i.e courtney upshaw.) if we do draft ryan nassib though, it just proves to me that rex is in win now mode and is calling atleast some of the shots

so are the Bills, and the only way we are getting in frontof them is a trade. we need all the picks we can get.
