Ravens may offer a later round selection as we have a need there, but as others have said, it probably wont be worth it and he has very little value on the market.

So far only the OP suggested 3rd or 4th round.

The Jets need cap space more than they need a run stopping NT as a 2nd NT. I think we're going to be relying on a lot of inexperienced guys this year.

I didn't follow every game of the Jets, but didn't Ellis do a pretty decent job last year? If so, I think it would be simple to add a 2nd or 3rd depth/back up guy behind him.

I don't think much if anything. Best to probably cut him to save $ especially if his back is still fucked.

  6. Let's not forget about Damon Harrison who had a really good camp as a rookie & looked decent when given Playing time.

    Just something to consider.

6th rounder. Maybe somebody out there really loves him and offers a 5th but I doubt it.

Play a 4-3. The jets are so THIN at LB they should keep Sione at DT and start him with Ellis. Play Wilk and Couples at DE. Harris, Davis and Mac at LB. Couples and Wilk are 1st round picks and stars--The jets should play in a 4-3 to free their (Wilk and Couples) talents, not a 3-4 where DL merely serves as blockers for LBs.

  10. Both Wilkerson & Coples are better suited as interior 4-3 players. They aren't edge rushers.Jets can't employ those looks though b/c they literally don't have a single edge rusher on the roster.

Revis + Pou'ha + 1st to NO for Drew Brees.

    I wish.

We're going to need cap room, and Pou'ha is a little over payed. I do think we'll be good with Ellis up front. He's shown some great signs. If we can find a partner that needs a proven NT, that would be great. I'd take a mid round draft pick. If we trade with NO maybe Sproles?

Really don't get the hate on Pouha and Devito... they were both injured last year and that affected their play but when healthy they are both solid players for us.

But yes while age is a concern it's not the end all for the fatties in the NFL...lol

the thing about the nfl is, players have value in certain schemes. there are not that many players that are studs on every team. those are the ones that get paid. but guys like pouha are only useful to certain teams.
now it's possible that managers will over or undervalue the guy mistakenly. and it's possible the jets could get a decent pick for him. but i can't see it. another sticky contract on the jets hands.

His contract was another nail in Tanny's coffin. I don't care if we trade him, but I hope we get rid of him. He just isn't worth the contract.

His contract last year was a necessity, we would have lost him (hind sight with the games he missed with that lower back). Ellis was hurt for 2/3 rds of the year. That really hurt our run D. That said he needs to restructure or be traded or cut. Best we get is a 5-6 with a trade

i used to hate on devito but he played very well last season, even started to get pressure in the pass rush.
