They'd be fools to not at least try to get something for him. Someone might be interrested in capitalizing on his popularity. Who knows, maybe someone out there still sees potential.

It's like unloading unwanted junk in a garage sale. There's always a bigger idiot out there that will take it off your hands. Then they try to find a bigger idiot. But eventually you get to the head idiot and nobody buys. They become one of those hoarders on that show or pitch it.

Time will tell if the jets are the top of that pyramid or if there is a sucker out there lokking to trade something for that beat up used matress. Perhaps someone will be willing to trade something to get first crack at it before it hits the scrap heap and becomes fair game to... welll.... bums mostly.

It's the best (and the least thing) they could to try to avoid the Pats from getting him.

Why would you be concerned with the Pats getting him?

They didn't think he was worth a shit on the Jets. What makes you think they fear him on the Pats?

If I know the Pats, they'll find ways to use him and actually find some success, whether that'd be as a FB, or TE. Not so much afraid, as much as I'd be pissed off to watch him success with those fucks. Plus, Josh McDaniels was the dude who originally drafted him and Belichick has the Urban Meyer connection. Belichick loves players like Tebow.

But Tebow wants to be a QB so why would he sign with the Pats?

Well it makes sense, try to get whatever you can. If league knowledge is that he will be released though, I don't see anyone jumping to trade for him

Who better to learn from than Brady. Josh McDaniels ego. And going to a winning organization that will at least use him, if not as a QB, as at least a FB. The guy loves running at the very least.

So we're supposed to worry about Tebow being groomed behind brady as the heir apparent who gets the occasional FB snap in an offense that rarely uses a FB?

I'm not exactly shaking in my boots here.

Hey if the Pats want to give us a late round pick for Tebow I got no problem shipping him to NE.

Personally I don't see anyone wanting Tebow bad enough to give up any compensation for him, especially knowing the Jets will likely release him if there are no offers.

The only way I see Tebow getting traded is if someone like San Francisco wants him as part of a package deal......for example the Jets getting Alex Smith for Tebow and a draft pick (conditional 3rd/4th?).

In other news -- the New York Jets are trying to trade their dirty practice jerseys, used toothbrushes, broken clipboards and other useless shit that nobody wants...

The purpose of a trade instead of release is to free up $1M cap hit. Don't expect to receive a late round pick by trading Tebow. It's more likely that Jets will give away a late round pick with Tebow to anyone who can take the cap hit for Jets.
Jets give away a 7th round pick AND Tebow for nothing (e.g. a impossible conditional pick) in return.

Tebow is the best QB Jets can get for the next season, and many seasons to come.

Unfortunately Tebow has to prove it to Jets organization with another team.

Is that just a "feeling," or do you have a reason for believing that?

I posted this in another thread yesterday.

The Jets clearly didn't deploy him properly in the offense last season.
His market value couldn't possibly be more depressed.
He's never going to be a conventional pocket qb, but he is a dynamic athlete that can occupy a useful roster spot as a change of pace/short yardage/special teams guy.
The Jets have a million other holes to fill.

No real good reason to just cut him if we get nothing in return. The Jets can find a use for the guy.
