I saw your team one year in the NCAA Tournament, I think they lost to Kentucky in the 8/9 game. It was in Chicago. That site was off the charts. In Chicago we had Kansas Nova Kentucky Wisconsin GTech UNLV We also got stuck with Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Niagara
Great effort by Villanova last night from top to bottom. The fact that they were in a position to tie that game with less than 30 seconds left is mind-boggling.
Oladipo is pretty classless. Michigan gave up with about 14 seconds left after missing a three. They stopped fouling (they had been fouling on the previous Indiana possessions). So Oladipo decides to run down the court all by himself and dunk at the buzzer.
And thanks to LaSalle, Philly has one too. Can you explain to me how our brilliant head coach lost to the same full-court press from the same team who beat him two weeks ago? Can we now start holding him accountable for the horrific shape this program is in just 2 1/2 years off of a Final Four appearance?
No question that was a bad loss. I thought the officiating was terrible, Providence shot a ridiculous 10-15 from 3 and Nova had a lot of tough luck with some shots around the rim not going in but regardless that's one that's going to haunt them. I think it just comes down to the talent level at the guard position isn't what 'Nova is accustomed to. Really no true point guard with Wayans leaving early and guys like Ty Johnson transferring. Arcidiacano is better off the ball and so is Hilliard. Chennault sucks. Hopefully next year Ennis can play that role.
To be honest I don't know if there is a more over-rated over hyped team then UNLV. I am disgusted with this team. I know a lot of people will say how can I be upset about a team that is 17-5 and has hovered around the top 25 all season? If you watched this team you would understand my frustration... case in point Saturday night on the road at Boise, a team we should beat on pure talent alone but this team who were much bigger, much deeper and much more talented then Boise not only gets outrebounded by a much smaller team but they for some reason jacked up 24 3's as opposed to working the bal inside against a weaker opponent. They have no sembelance of an offense when they get forced into a half court game and the lazy sloppy turnovers are troublesome. There is no doubt in my mind that we will make the NCAA Tournament barring something ridiculous but after watching this team for 20 games this year I would absolutely bet against them in the 1st round because they have no heart and Dave Rice is in way over his head. He can recruit but I think at this point his coaching leaves a lot to be desired.
With Villanova, UNLV, UNC, and St. Johns playing the way there are, there are a lot of unhappy people on this thread!
I'm not unhappy with SJU. I didn't think they would be G-town. They play UConn on Wednesday. If they lose that, I'll be unhappy!
Well I'm unhappy... I understand that Boise has beaten Creighton in Omaha but UNLV should never ever get beat by Boise when we shoot 50% for the game. This loss is on lazy defense and lack of effort on the boards... for all the accolades Anthony Bennett gets and he will probably be a lottery pick his defense is borderline disgraceful.
