http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...rren-sapp-among-seven-voted-into-hall-of-fame About time Carter got in.
i have no problems with any of these. although i would have guessed strahan this year and sapp next year but what ever. next year they fix the back log of deserving guys, as i think theat class of first timers is pretty weak
Deserving list. Sapp prob was the most dominate 3 technique player in the last 2 decades. Strahan will get in next year.
I have a lot of disdain for what Bill Parcells did to Miami and I wish more people would call him out for it but he deserves to get in for his other work
very good class, ogden was great, sapp was great, parcells was great and carter deserved it as much as any of the rest of them. it cant be as good as last year though. that curtis martin speech will always be the best i have ever heard by someone going into the hof.
I'm happy Cris Carter finally got in and surprised Strahan did not. Both Culp and Robinson have been deserving for a very long time. There's just one more Lombardi Packer that needs to get in - Jerry Kramer
I view Parcells as one of my most influential figures in life. He is a leaderof men. I adore Parcells. Shitty GM tho.
I think Parcells was a very good HC. I would not put him in the HOF. He is clearly a step below the all time great HC.
^What?! Two time SB champ with an insane coaching tree andonly HC in history to take 4 teams to playoffs isnt a HOFer?!
Herm Edwards took 2 teams to the playoffs as HC. Making the playoffs today doesn't exactly make you a HOF coach. Parcells, BB and Crennel were all hired by NY Giants HC Ray Perkins. It's not exactly his coaching tree.
Yeah, Herman took teams built by Parcells to the playoffs. Winning one SB vindicates your work, winning another with some nobody at QB puts u in the HOF. Parcells would take shit and turn it into gold.
Herm took KC to the playoffs. Don't think Parcells built that one, not that Herm did. Parcells never took a team not built by George Young to a SB victory.
Come on Duh Herm inherited two playoff rosters and ran them into the soil! Building is one thing coaching is another. He was a great X and Os guy and master motivator. The goddam gatorade douse was coined in his honor! The guy is a total HOFer despite his tendency to bail tge project. He left the Pats, Jets and Cowboys way better off than prior to his arrival.
I'm a beliver that the Hall of Fame is for the greats not the near greats. Parcells was very good. He isn't in the same class as Paul Brown, Halas, Lombardi, Landry, Noll, Walsh, Stram, and even Ewbank. Real good not a true innovator and gets way to much credit for BB work.
We will have to agree to disagree. the man had a presence, shit got real the moment he walked in the door. Tuna has more titles than Weeb. What exactly constitutes a HOF HC in your opinion?
how is this a debate? he took 2 different teams to the s.b. and came very close with a 3rd. 2 .b. rings 3 appearances = h.o.f
My own opinion about the HOF is there are way to many in not to few. Starting with that premise to be a HOF HC you have to be the dominate HC of your era or a guy who revolutionized the game. In the Parcells era the first HC that comes to mind is Bill Walsh, Parcells can't carry his jock from my standard. Walsh is a slam dunk best of his generation coach. Parcells is a notch under Gibbs who is very borderline and similiar to guys like Johnson, Shanahan and several others. Based on what the HOF actually does he belongs, he isn't a generational exceptional HC. He is among the top of a bunch of guys who are near great.
